Is the game worth the $ ?
Steam having an offer now , tempted.
yes with mods...
what kind of mods?
right heads up people ikko-ikki is out for dlc.
re the mods atm i run toons all in one mod, darthmod (latest beta), and aum-sho.
here are the links. you have to create user scripts as well as copying over the files to your data folder. i can help with this if peeps encounter issues.
have fun vandrende!
p.s mods add better music/units/gameplay etc etc.
ok thanks for the links. i'll like the game vanilla for now though. it's pretty perfect to me.
now back to leading my clan to glory (maybe)...
i really want this game but not sure..damn.
buy it on steam while its in sale, its worth it lots of re playability, great graphics and gameplay
Get any of the other total war games if you haven't already, they are much, much better, except Empire/Napoleon.
Shogun 2 has no unit variety and the diplomacy is just horrible. It lacks map variety aswell. Even in campaign mode, there are 3 siege maps and 5 battle maps that your battles will take place on.
still in my mind best TW so far.... sure it wont have as much unit variety its one country. diplomacy is kinda what it was in japan horrible.
i love this game to death a lot of fun.
medieval 2 is second best to me then maybe empire with all the good mods.
Rome is still my favorite.
yes and wing commander was the best game ever but we always needs the
new . if you are interested of a good rts gaming that can last you more than
2 months of gaming then no need to ask if its worth buying .
most of the games you can play it for years on multilayer but only few
last more than one week on single player .
i have made the legendary kenjutsu school but all i have is the katana samurai ,
haw can i get the ronin samurai ?
i did it , AI lost at very hard . but i did not win the campaign in time . i manged
to kill all the clans but at year 1800 . this game did well at single player i have
been playing for a month .
glad to hear you are enjoying it. am playing with the mod trom3 (road to kyoto). i really like it...restricts how many samurai you can buid so you dont face 3 stack ai armies with say 7 katanas n varies a few things like trade n the units.
playing as tokugawa (christian) and am facing a strong 12 province takeda (i have 8), also playing as date and just got invaded by the ikko-ikki up north..
if you want more fun/diff units better balance to game check out the mods..(eg aum-sho/zenmod/darth/toonsallinone/trom3).
am done with the original game . time to move on to men of war assault squad
i really like this game . i retired from multilayer few years ago , i just
cant put up with the youth players . :wanker: . well bf3 might be worth coming back i dunno yet . i made 3 armies . one with monks bows and spears
and one with katana and ninjas and the third is with fire arms rockets and grenadiers all 3 of them can take any army even 12000 of them
dang , men of war is even harder ,whats up with the AI these days
ok trom3 beta is out thats dlc friendly + aor specific units meaning you can recruit certain faction specific units only in certain territories (cool feature).
p.s anyone using sli + nvinspector and got the game working well?
Does anyone know how to get the Benchmark Settings to the run? I get the "Your system does not support the settings required to run this Benchmark" error.
Required Shader Model setting is not supported.
Required Anti Aliasing setting is not supported.
Required Texture Filtering setting is not supported.
Required Trees Quality setting is not supported.
Required Tessellation setting is not supported.
Bull s**t! Changing drivers doesn't help.
Need to dust this thread off, I have just brought Shogun 2 edition after being disappointed by the Rome 2 release but im seeing really high gpu temps and usage on the campaign map! im hitting 80c on my top card with 100% usage. Battles seem fine so i guess this is a bug? I have vsync on , what else can I try to fix this?
Not really a bug... without either framerate limiter or vsync, your GPU should be working near 100% and rendering the game in some godly and totally unnecessary frame rate.
Even in FTL (2d pixel art indie game) my GPU usage hits 100% if I don't enable vsync with like 900+ frames per second.
So if you don't want to enable vsync, go for framerate limiter of some sort. I haven't touched Nvidia cards for at least a year so I'm out of touch on how that works with green though.
BTW cheers and welcome to total war!
