Hi there. I was wondering if we would ever see mainstream CPU's like the 3600 series with the verga 11 iGPU as an APU? Bit like the mid to higher end laptops. Reason I'm asking is that I'd like a APU with Asrocks A300 mini pc for some retro gaming with GOG, but also use it as a secondary system to run a bit heavier non-gaming loads in which more cache and core would be nice. Just a quick Q. I've never been interested in this segment before and I cannot find much about it other than old old bulldoze era APU's
Who know what we may see in future, but Intel did this years ago with i7-8809G. NUC8i7HVK and NUC8i7HNKQ both have integrated Vega. I don't recommend these mini PC's for anything but the lightest use, after terrible issues with Skull Canyon NUC. SFF uATX or mini ITX with full sized PSU is best for this purpose IMO.
They are going strong. the current amd APU's are better than ever. I have used both the Ryzen 3200g and 3400g , and they run really well for general computing and emulator gaming. I think it is only a matter of time before you see substantially stronger graphics in APU's......AMD and Intel have both toyed with the idea.
