Oh gawd, how time has passed. How to send an email 1980's style. Electronic message writing down the phone line. First shown on Thames TV's computer programme 'Database' in 1984. ... Sending an email back in 1984
Just looked like teletext lol I was 5 back then, few years before we got our first computer, the BBC's little brother, the Acorn Electron
The sound of the modem brings back memory's, I used a commodore 64 I remember using bulletin boards that looked the same.
Connects PC to telephone. "Now, I am going to call my computer" My god. Good thing we don't call our computer nowadays. My PC would just say, "F#CK OFF, I AM DONE WITH YOU AND YOUR RIDICULOUS OC".
I had no idea that any of that even existed back then as i started my first job after just leaving school that year, so the closest i came to any technology back in 1984 was my Vic 20 and Ceefax on the TV, i did not even know about this internet thing until 1998 when NTL did that free internet dial up service for their cable customers and that first time logging onto the internet felt like Armstrong stepping onto the moon. lol
Oh Boy that sure does make me appreciate he things we have now! Very nostalgic to watch thank you for that.
Man it's things like this that kids take for granted. I was born in 90, so I can't attest for this. But kids now don't even care about emailing someone, you gotta DM them in snapchat, or whatever they're using now. AIM for life, email too lol. Or how kids don't know the struggle of a bike with carbs...Gotta let the Kawasaki warm up for 10 minutes before I can ride it.
I cringe when i heard that printer sounds as we used to have them at my job a very long time ago printing all day , ohh ... still love those songs that the old dial up modem made i kind of missed those sounds , and yeah i'm that old
Nah, carbs are still a very normal thing on bikes these days. Injection is a strawberry to work with and a lot of people I know prefer it simply since its easier to fix. OT: That's waaay before my time, I only remember paying with the phone using the internet. No pausing an online game then.
