I currentlt have an ASUS GTX 670 TOP card and it is all well and good, sometimes unstable with the power target and everything, maybe it's just the TOP card. But anyway, the GTX 660Ti cards are supposed to come out around August 15. The specs of the cards are pretty much identical also. I can save a couple hundred bucks by SLI 2x GTX 660 Ti over 670 SLi, and money is important to me I do have bills, etc. Either that or maybe hold out with my 670 for now and see how this anticipated HD 7990 benchmarks when it comes out later this month. That way I can just sell my 670 and upgrade to an HD 7990. If it does what the 6990 did by meeting and exceding the 590 in performance, it might be a really good card, hopefully the 7990 fixed the temperature and stability issues the 6990 had.

Do you really need all that power are you gaming at anything higher than 1920x1200? If not kinda seems like a waste and a headache consider all the inherent problems with CF or SLi.

Well, I'm already having a headache with the turbo boost, power target and voltage adjustments. I think it's worth it in the end to be honest. With an HD 7990 I think it would be worth it, if and only if it reallly competes with the GTX 690 and beats it like the 6990 beat the 590 in raw performance last gen. Also, I may end up getting a multi-setup thing going soon, 120 Hz monitors also so that makes sense as well.

Just some driver stop responding issues, and stuff like that I mean it's not like I am unable to play or anything just little bugs here and there.

Okay so your not having the DCU2 TOP experience that I had with the 7970 I had for a week. I have had only one weird problem with my 670 so far and that was BF3 crashed (not the driver) when I was at 1300 which is stable on my card. That was fixed by setting my card up where it only hits 1276 in boost in BF3.

    Why not buy another 670?

Downclock the TOP so it doesn't crash.... edit the BIOS and flash if you want it permanent

Yep, that’s what I would do if I already had one 670. Two of these in SLI would be perfect for 120Hz monitor.

In the end you’d likely save money if you have to sell the 670 you already have and have to buy two more cards or multi GPU card.

Chances are, the new cards you’re thinking of replacing it with will likely have more problems when they’re first released.

670 sli, the 660 is going to be good but memory bandwidth starved on 192 bit

By another 670, but you may need a new PSU.
My first 670 was Asus DCII top too, but it died after two days. I returned it for 2 galaxy 670 GCs and have no problem ever since, not even 'driver stop working' ****. I'm planning to SLI too but not now.

I dont see a 7990 being any better then 2 7970s if they can even manage to keep power down to have it be even that. Which i'm assuming is why it's taking them so long to even release it. I'm wondering if it's ever going to come out it's so late in the game at this point.

    at this moment:
    -670 is upper than 660
-7990 (wich is delayed) should be few up than 2 X 7970 (as the fact that it was = to 2 x 7970 might be the cause of the delay)
    -670 is more or less = 7970

    Soooooooo:
-get another 670 :D (and get a fast SSD with the saved $)

yes but people wonder who is the most powerfull: the hippo or the elephant (because the hippo is very very strong... but the elephant can bring stuff with it's nose...)

    ***private joke lol***

what about an online bench on the webpage to help having less? it would help people with those question

my favorites were 2 threads. "Is my psu powerful enough for 480 sli", followed by "Is my psu powerful enough for 580 sli"...
