I knew that if Jello Biafra ran and won, things would have been better. Kinda scary times right now, it seems. Thanks Lars Ulrich for your whining a few years ago. Really. Thanks.

Its absurd they can cash in on a song for 30 or more years, i think artist and such should earn there money with concerts.

They have bin making games/music/movies more interesting to pirate due the high pricing awful drm's and lack of content, at the same time pirating got worse they got more power, if this is true, then we can expect criminals to begin old fashion dealing with games and movies, in Holland u use to have Twilight cd's each packing a few games.

Also if this laws ever comes we can forgot about innovation, it will be €60-70 priced short games with 90% of the content in the dlc's, with drm's that only let u play the games 3 times before u have to buy it again.

Are you saying the world as we know it centers on youtube?

And I can feel the anti-americanism boiling up. And as much as that makes me so happy to hear, let's keep it to a minimum.

With an artcle that says the words "Sources say" and "If accurate" so much, I don't see how you guys can take it for fact yet.

lol....you have little knowledge in regards to the US. We have a lot more freedom than any other country. Last I checked, nothing granted freedom to steal though. When you break DRM, or attempt to publish copyrighted material, you are attempting to steal someone else's intellectual property. This matter, will be argued in court though, as we are guarranteed the right to be believed innocent until proven guilty, even though this is rarely the case. If charged with a traffic violation, you are presumed guilty, until proven innocent. The only way around this, though it's unconstitutional to believe someone is guilty before they're proven such, is to request a trial by jury...which is the right of every US Citizen charged with any offense. The US constitution specifically states "all persons accused of a crime have a right to trial by a jury of their peers". By the time this matter is over...this treaty will fall apart due to our constitution. This same thing was tried while Bush was in office, and did in fact fall apart....no difference this time.

As far as them trying to hide the "treaty" from citizens....unless they can prove beyond any reasonable doubt that it is in fact a matter of national security, they're required by law (signed by Bill Clinton and supported by George W. Bush, known as the freedom of information act) to disclose any and ALL details in regards to the "treaty". No US Citizen can be charged with a crime, which supporting legal documentation is not made available in regards to. This means, no public release of "treaty" details = no possible enforcement. This has been tried numerous times, and in every instance, the US Supreme court has ruled that no law, which is not made public knowledge or is not attempted to make public knowledge, can be enforced by any law enforcement agency....whether it be local, state or federal agency. Citizens have the expressed right to know any and all details in regards to any law passed, prior to it's enforcement.

BTW...Intel, AMD, ATI and Apple are all US based companies, as are Microsoft and Symantec. Where has capitalism died? Further proof...our "medical professionals" are permitted to bankrupt us in exchange for their services....that's true capitalism there. Won't argue that we are in the process of becoming a socialist nation though. Problem is, people whine and cry about our gov't....but nobody is willing to take the necessary steps to remind the gov't who is really in charge. The NRA is the only organization left that's organized enough to do anything...and they're only interested in the rights of people to "keep and bare arms"...they're not the least bit interested in any other rights. The Electronic Frontier Foundation apparently hasn't caught wind of this yet....and since they beat it the last time, I'm sure they'd be perfectly happy to do it again.

Everyone remembers the EU right? They weren't too concerned with their citizen's "freedom's" when they went after MS over IE being integrated into Windows7... Seems to me that every citizen living under the rule of the EU should have been able to "upgrade" to Windows7 without hinderance from the EU. MS couldn't remove IE from computers that were being "upgraded" to Windows7, so they couldn't offer an "upgrade" without being in violation of the EU's ruling, because an "upgrade" to Windows7 would have required that IE8 be installed with Windows7.

obviously to be taken with a grain of salt, but should any of this end up being true, then America has touched the absolute rock bottom.

and that whole world must follow a US style statement.. good luck doing that to arabic/muslim countries who hate america, they would never follow any american style mumbo jumbo, they'd rather send a nuclear missile and obliterate the US rather than bow to them and their rules.

i already imagine the next treaty: "remove the water from homes where people consume too much".

That is an absurd statement, worthy only of pointing out, not commenting on.

Don't sound like freedom to me.

The people shouldn't fear their Government. The Government should fear it's people.

Being a US Citizen I can say only one thing. I hope Obama dies. Every day I come into work and we talk about what a dumb ass this guy is. God... I'd love to move to another country, like Canada or somewhere in Britain.

If this gets passed, then i bet he will. I also would not doubt that some starts hunting down CEOs and greedy stock holders. That would make things just plan old nuts over here!

No other country and destroy the United States. It can only destroy it's self, and we are doing a good job already!

How about you learn some respect for your President buddy. I hate what Obama does every single dayr, but not once will I say anything like you said just now. That is completely unacceptable. Like it or not, he was elected. And contrary to what you think would be best, our country still works by electing representatives. In this case, he was elected by the people of the country. If you voted for him or not, you have it, he is your president, if you are a citizen and you should do damn well to remember that. Disagree all you want, but wishing death on an elected representative of our government, how sad are you. You would be outraged if someone who opposed a president you elected said the same thing.

If you can't, Canada or Britain will be happy to have you.
