I will be in search for a new monitor and am hopeful that the Guru3D community may have some ideas.

Just as I never liked sitting in the front row at movie theaters because the relative size of the screen was so "in your face", I do not like really large computer monitors. As the monitor sits about 2 feet away from me on my desk, I've found that about a 24" monitor is perfect. I might be willing to go as high as 27", but no more.

That being said, my other criteria are as follows:

    IPS panel
    2560x1440 resolution
    144 Hz refresh rate
Stable support for either FreeSync or G-Sync
    Hardware crosshair (preferable)

That's pretty much it. I am not opposed to buying a brand that is not one of the well-known companies, if the price is right. Besides, pretty much all the panels are made by a couple of manufacturers. As I will probably want two of these, price is an object here. I'd rather try to keep it around $350 per monitor.

I don't think anyone makes 24" panels with those specifications mate. I've looked as well.
I settled for a 27" attached to a gas-arm mount instead so I can move it further back.

    Thanks for your input.

I know for a fact that even 4K monitors exist at 24", so I'm hopeful.

Pixio PX275h could be a candidate, have a glance:

Thanks, I actually had come across this before I saw your post. It appears to be a winner in the budget monitor area. 95 Hz refresh will likely be fine for me as I play more serene games than twitch reflex ones.

It can be obtained right now directly from Pixio for $249. The review videos I've seen look promising.

Thanks, but that's a VA panel.

I bought a monitor and got it in today. I got the Pixio PX275h for $249 and free shipping direct from Pixio. So far I am delighted. It will actually do 144 Hz refresh although it only claims 95.
