Hello, I'm on an Nvidia 540M Laptop with optimus and display scaling is controlling by an intel 3000 GPU, I'm trying not to have black bars in my games on lower resolutions than the native one(4:3 1024 x 768) and it keeps giving me black bars and the fullscreen scaling mode for intel it's missing in the control panel, can anyone help me fix this issue please?

I'm not really sure what the question is. You should be running all games off of the 540M and at the native resolution of the monitor in fullscreen mode (that setting is in-game). The Intel 3000 GPU settings don't even need to be changed. You don't need to change any scaling settings at that resolution.

I'm trying to play in 4:3 1024 x 768 full screen, without black bars, but I can't get rid of them.

Playing 4:3 games on a 16:9 screen would have to have black bars, otherwise everything would be stretched

So how that on w8.1 it was stretched and now it has black bars?

Change the scaling options in NVCP (Use the nVIDIA GPU)

    Nothing in the BIOS?

I've not used an Optimus machine before, so not sure what else to suggest, someone who has will likely come in and help you out

Because you have a widescreen monitor? To fill up a widescreen monitor at that resolution you'd need to stretch the image.

If the game is 4:3 native, the best you can do is see is there is a widescreen fix/hack for it. Which game is it? What laptop model is it. Are you sure the native resolution is 1024x768? Something with a 540m in it should be at least 1366x768 right? Give us more detail.

On Optimus machines the scaling must be done on Intel settings, the Nvidia stream goes thru Intel and so Intel handles it and Intel can't be switched out. Check your Intel control settings if there is an advaced setting to stretch the pic to fill the screen; no idea if HD 3000 does it. Check different versions of Intel driver.
