When available, they will all be gone in 24 hours and end up on ebay @ $1500.

And after a couple weeks they'll be returned like the Nvidia 4000 series scalpers could not sell.
Oh wait: retailers now don't accept returns because of that. good luck scalpers!

I will be hitting some of the computer stores in my area for 7900XTX.I am just not fast enough on Amazon and they sell the new GPU's sometimes and they do not have enough stock to send out.Sometimes though I do find deal on Amazon with same day delivery, which is awesome.

Those are 4080s that are hard to sell with their silly prices. Big diff vs the 7900s which are going to fly off the shelves with their much more appealing prices. Scalpers will jump on these.

Even if you considered the shop price to be agreeable, would the scalper price anymore be such? To make profit, a scalper would try to sell it for about as much as a 4080 goes for in a shop, which should be too much, since the price is precisely 4080's main problem. But then again, if someone is buying stuff from a scalper, I guess they don't care about the price, only the availability. There are plenty of 4080s in shops, which ought to be the primary reason why scalpers can't sell their wares. In other words, with the RX 7900 cards, it would also depend on how much AMD and AIB partners can manufacture.

Very good point. Not much to be gained scalping 7900s when 4080s will be on the shelves at MSRP. But things could change if the 4080 drops to $999 and they start to once again be on the scalping table.

'If' is the operative word here, nVidia might, just might, drop the price of the RTX 4080 to 999YSD, but that's highly unlikely. That means they'd have to sell the RTX 4070 Ti for 800-850USD perhaps, but the rumor is, they want 1000USD for the RTX 4070 Ti.

Before the 4080 12gb was unlaunched, Nvidia had revealed its price as $899. No ones going to buy a 4070 ti for more than that. Or even $899 for that matter as it will be going against the 7900 cards.

Then you've seriously underestimated fanboyism, and nVidia mindshare. I believe even IF nVidia were to price it at 899USD (as they'd intended what the RTX 4070 Ti was called the RTX 4080 12GB FE as in Fake Edition), it would still be lapped up by fanboys/nVidiots, it's as simple as that.

Basically we have to be optimistic that originally planned rtx4070 wont be more than 599$.

Well, Nvidia 'fanboyism' has hit a wall with the pricing of the 4080 16gb. In no small part due to the incoming 7900 cards. Same will occur with under-spec'd 12gb model that is just as bad in value if not worse as the other. I'm a certified Nvidia fanboy and $899 is well within my budget, but that I draw a line in spending it on a 192-bit mid-range card. There are limits to even Nvidia die-hards.

Then I put it to you, sir, that while you're an nVidia fanboy, you do not qualify as an nVidiot.:p:D

Just kidding, it's refreshing to meet with a reasonable nVidia fan!:) I'm waiting for for the release of the RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX myself, will see how they compare against the RTX 4070 Ti (when it's released) and the RTX 4080 respectively, I've got time, I can only get back home early February, so I've got time to read reviews and benchmarks before committing.

Even now, I'm almost willing to lay down good money that the RTX 3050 is outselling its AMD rival, the RX 6600, though the latter runs circles around it, and can be had for less. nVidia mindshare hard at work here.....

I'm OK with it. I will buy the cheaper AMD card if tests look good and those fanboys will have indirectly saved me a few bucks.

Even Nvidia`s fanboys have turned their backs on the 4080 because of the silly prices, just because people (really) like a certain brand doesn`t mean they are going to bend over all the way, like certain companies desire...

The same is going to happen to the future 4070ti or whatever is called.

And i think AMD is also going to have a really hard time selling the 7900`s at those prices.
