Well, ive had this baby a week now and it rocks.

Trouble is I have a vert well ventilated case (see my youtube channel: bboymassuk) using a Coolermaster Haf-X and I'm close to reaching 90c in most games.

    Dodgy card?

Who knows, just need to know if anyone else is getting the same temps?

BTW, I wish youtuber reviewers would stop using open-bench platforms. You cant compare temps to an open ventilated motherboard to a closed case with fans.

    Do you agree?:)

looks normal to me. I understand you worrying though. Thats alot of geet to spend. Want to make sure its ok. I was the same way about my 580's in sli, they get to about 90(seen 93 on them before) sometimes, depending on the game. Crysis 2 they hit anywhere from 81 to 90. Running a silverstone rv02 case. I wouldnt worry too much about it as long as you arent artifacting or anything.

    Thanks mate.

Nice to know I'm not the only one with HOT GPU's :)

It's amazing how the case dont melt with all that heat.lol

    Later.

Your 6990 or your cpu:) Different boxes different temps.

Idle both of my cards are at 42c(side panel on) its like 78f in this room though. My heater(PC) warms it up pretty good in here. In the winter they run around 35c idle.

Got the Sapphire 6990 and I did post elsewhere that my temps never got past 74 degrees, I was playing the likes of Two Worlds 2, Fallout New Vegas, Crysis, Stalker Call of Pripyat etc.

Then I gave it something to munch on, Metro 2033 made it sweat a bit, res at 1920 x 1080, all settings maxed, fps sat anywhere from 50 to 120 and I was seeing 88 degrees and I was suffering the noise of a 50 percent gpu fan, not a pleasant sound as my rig is otherwise pretty quiet.

I've mounted a 140 mm fan to blow air straight up at that squirrel blower on the 6990 to try and get as much air through the card as possible, it's working too, shaved 6 degrees off the top temps in Metro 2033 and it's also cooler at idle.

I'm currently trying to screw up the courage to order an EK Waterblock for it but have never fitted one on a gpu before and am worried about trashing the card.
