Just some benches of the Samsung F4EG HD204UI that I recieved today. This is a 2TB (IIRC, it's configured with 3x 667GB platters) drive operating at 5400RPM featuring 32MB of cache. Beats the crap out of my 5 year old 200GB Maxtor 7200RPM drive and complements my Samsung F3 1TB (HD103SJ) nicely.

Tested new, out-of-the-box with NTFS formatting (allocation unit size: 4K), MBR. Hooked up to the ICH9 SATA II 3.0Gb/s controller on my GA-P35-DS3L.

    HD Tune Pro (read speed):

    Minimum: 61.3MB/s
    Maximum: 146.5MB/s
    Average: 107.7MB/s

Access time: 15.8ms (it's a 5400RPM drive, so this is to be expected)
    Burst rate: 194.6MB/s
    CPU usage: 6.5%

HD Tune Pro (write speed; unformatted):

    Minimum: 62.9MB/s
    Maximum: 152.5MB/s
    Average: 105.8MB/s

    Access time: 13.8ms
    Burst rate: 149.1MB/s
    CPU usage: 6.7%

    CrystalDiskMark (3 runs):

    Pretty impressive for a 5400.
