Have Samsung released any NVMe M.2 drives with a 4 TB capacity?

I was looking at the Amazon Prime Day deals and despite there being 4 TB drives from others (Crucial, WD), I could only see 2 TB drives from Samsung. The only 4 TB Samsung SSDs I saw was the 870 QVO which is SATA3. I was looking at adding a 4 TB drive to an external caddy (e.g. Crucial P3 Plus) for cheap storage as 4 TB SATA3 SSDs are actually more expensive. In the end, I took so long deliberating that the Crucial drive went up in price so I decided against it.

Apart from a 4 TB Crucial X6 SSD, all my SSDs, both SATA3 and NVMe are 2 TB drives. 2 TB drives have been cheap for a while but 4 TB drives are usually more than double the cost of those making them bad value for money in my opinion.

I wouldn't bother with Samsung NVMe and just get a WD SN850X.

Why? Benchmarks show that the 990PRO is very good. Seems they fixed the firmware issue... $129.99 for 2TB on Amazon right now.

First of all, he said he wants a 4TB. Ergo, no Samsung option. So recommending a 2TB model is pointless. Also, benchies have shown that the WD model is also an excellent top-tier performer, and TBH I like their software better, and I don't need to use a Samsung NVMe driver.

When I bought mine on Amazon, they were $139 for the SN850X 2TB, and $149 for same unit with heatsink, which is the one I got, and I got it with free monthly financing. (Current pricing is $143)

On Amazon the SN850X 4TB is $308, tho you should be able to find a $299 option somewhere.

You made it seem like you're against the Samsung... The capacity is obviously up to him - he does want the 4TB.

Looks like another very good option is the Sabrent Rocket Plus-G - 4TB for $399.99 on Amazon currently.

There's also PCIE gen. 5 stuff...

I currently have two Samsung 990s in my build, a 1TB for the OS and a 2TB for Flight Simulator. I was hoping to replace the 2TB with a 4TB. I've been really happy with the Samsungs and like the Magician software. I was considering a 4TB FireCuda, but was hoping Samsung would just release their 4TB 990.

Well, following up on the Samsung Pro nvme 4TB release date , there is no sign of it to be release anytime soon :( , maybe next year :/

I was in need of big storage to store my huge movies and family videos / pictures library so i went ahead and bought a middle of the road Silicon Power 4TB UD90 nvme 4.0 - r/w 5000/4500Mb/s , it will only be used to store data for a long time and it was on a flash sale yesterday at Amazon for only $157US Dollars :D . Reviews are decent for this drive. A nice welcome addition to my already 6TB of nvme storage , can never have enough storage lol :D

Of course Samsung announces they will release the 4TB 990 Pro, right after I got fed up waiting and purchased a WD SN850X 4TB. Just my luck...

Honestly, I don't know what to believe. I've read tons of articles that compare the 990 Pro, the SN850X and the FireCuda 530. There are so many differing opinions. I've always been a Sumsung guy, which is why I was waiting for the 4TB 990 Pro, but up until now, there were no updates on it's release.

I've always been a Samsung guy as well and even bought 2x 2TB 980 Pros when they went on sale but before opening them I returned and got 2x 2TB SN850X instead because they were cheaper and performed slightly faster. Not as fast as say a 990 Pro but I didn't need all that speed. I've came to the point where I don't have to be brand loyal and still get great performance for the price.
