    Too fast for gurus :p

    Can't wait to overclock it!

so it matches the 13900k supposedly. This probably means that the ST prowess of the cores isn't as good as Intel but they probably win on MT efficiency.

The next gen reviews ought to be interesting with this level of performance from both parties. I fear the prices won't be interesting, but luckily I've no need to upgrade my CPU yet.

  6. Great, the game is on! Intel and AMD fighting side by side for the performance crown. I just hope this will last for at least a couple more years.

rpl-s p-cores must be amazing if with only 8 of them and the rest of those slow ones they can match a beast like 7950x
maybe they upgraded e-cores too, they certainly doubled the cache. nice, cause even the entry level 13400 is getting them now.

So in summary this rumor shows AMD's rumored upcoming chip matches the rumored performance of Intel's rumored upcoming chip. So lets draw some conclusions off of that data.

If Intel match around same performance (13900K vs 7950X), then what price point will AMD land for 7950X ? The rumored +800$ ?

There wasn't much to overclock in any amd ryzen release.
Also not sure how plenty this OC is in the 13th serie on standard AIO liquid setups

If it can do that while staying under 175w tdp, then it will be no contest, because there will likely be a fair bit of headroom if its anything like the 5950x.

the transistor density is alot higher with 5nm, which means that heat (per mm^2) is more of an issue, so if a 5950x hits 65-70c stock with a 360 aio, 90c isnt that far off especially if its avx heavy
i wouldnt be surprised if thermal limitations end up being more important than available power , with the upcoming products from intel and amd.

I would be much more interested in how much power these chips are using, we have seen with the 12 series that intel needs a lot of Watts to hit its targets if they improved efficiency on the 13s then we should see a real tit for tat at last with Intel and AMD, I would be especially interested when AMD rolls out the x3d versions to see what they can do especially if they manage to keep the frequency above 5ghz

In 2022 we run cpu @ "stock" and tweaking the RAM to the max :D

That's how we are getting maximum fps in games ;)

In 1999, I had a K6-III 450 and despite not knowing much, I decided to try to tighten the timings on my SDR kit.
I don't remember much of what I did. Bit I remember that I got close to a 25% performance increase in MDK2.
At the time, caches were relatively slow and small, the K6 even had the L3 outside the CPU. So tweaking memory gave good results.

Wait are you telling the gurus on the site that buying
    $700 CPU
    $1500 GPU
$1500 worth the water cooling and tweaking your ram to play games at 720P/1080P does not bring anything to the table for you.
You must be one of those crazy people like me that plays PC games at 4K and memory also does nothing for me ,whew I thought I was missing out on something reading some post from people on the forums.I am glad I am not alone.

I play competitive games at 4K Low settings, so basically same as 1080p Ultra
