Did you guys see that? It looks like someone benchmarked the AMD Ryzen 7 1800x already and the result was not what most of us are expecting.
When I first saw I didn't believe it but when I went to check the system of the user, it seems legit.

I know it is just one sample but what you guys think?

Yes. If it is really true, then people can have their hopes dashed.
I was looking for an upgrade and got all hyped up about ryzen, but now I'm skeptic about it.

I'm not sure what "bad" things you read out of those pics / tables. Reads like Ryzen is marginally slower than a CPU costing double the money. Nothing too bad about that I'd say...

The problem is not the result, I agree, that's still great for the price. But it is not even close to 6900k as announced.
I'm pretty pissed off about the marketing and the lies.:bang:

Well, it depends on what you read out of the announcements and where that thing actually was as fast or faster than a 6900K (hint: probably not IPC).

It's marketing and PR work, yeah... hence, wait for reviews, as always. But don't say you're disappointed or that the PR slides "lie", because it's alternative facts, and they all do it :D
And somebody from the AMD fanbase might try to stab you, flame you, or get hold of some V-X.

Sample size of 1 vs 150+ , its pretty useless as a comparison

Yes, you are probably right. I should wait for the real thing here in Guru3D.
I hope Hilbert can tell us the truth soon.

Its no more trolling than any of the other bits of info prior to NDA lift. The reality will be presented soon enough.

I got excited about Ryzen as much as you guys. The only reason I posted this thread was to warn people that they might not get what they are expecting.
If the results in that site linked are correct, then Ryzen is not good as a 6900k as announced early by the AMD' marketing team.
There are a lot of idiots pre-ordering without a proper benchmark. I don't know, maybe patience is something not everybody has.
I never preorder anything. F*** you. Just tried to help.

Well I've just seen a review just released of the x1800 vs 7700k and 6900k and it shows the x1800 as quick but a little slower. So it would support that. We'll see wht happens later this afternoon. At the end of the day its good for all as AMD are now at least challenging intel and competition is good for all.

Could you share the link of that review with us, please?
    Thank you.

So, summing up, it's like paying half the price for something like 90% of the performance.
    Still great cost-effective.
