    Compare that value to what was on offer pre ryzen and give thanks to AMD.

    Had u decided on an intel cpu, u are only half way there. Next you have to spend hours ensuring you are not being tricked in some way - that an expected feature native to that cpu family hasnt been zapped in that sku. Even if it hasnt, you have still wasted time and stress.

    A way of looking at the 6 core vs 8 core decision, is that as a general workhorse or for the not too tragic gamer, most would rarely lose much time to 2 fewer cores, yet probably gain a slightly faster PC for lightly threaded tasks.

    All for less money (or a less painful drop in am4 socket ryzen2/apu upgrade later).

    I wonder what Ryzen II will offer as far as performance upgrade is concerned- I am hoping for a clock-speed increase and debating if I can skip upgrading until then, my Fx 8-core does everything I need it to do in the mean time but.....Its so tempting to snag up the 6/12 ryzen.
