This has been a fun and exciting day..... First, I discover that my UPS has failed. Had to replace that. Then the mounting hardware for my son's Arctic Freezer 33 eSport ONE is missing... Efff it, thrown on the stock cooler for now, call it a day. So, anyway. Just a bit ago, I finished round one of PC hardware upgrades for my son. Installed a new ASRock B550M Pro4 motherboard and AMD Ryzen 3 3300X processor. Boot into Windows was flawless....at least as flawless as booting into Windows could ever be. System is flying. Makes my system look like it's crawling. 7-Zip is just flashing across the screen as I decompress file after file. Driver installers are showing very similar behavior. Everything is going perfect and then check to make sure everything and working and.....no TPM detected. Great! Back to UEFI to check settings. Everything is set correctly. AMD fTPM is enabled. Security Device is enabled. Secure Boot is enabled. Boot back into Windows, still no TPM detected. Load up WhyNot11.... "No TPM Detected/Installed".... So... Anyone else have an issue with Ryzen 3 3300X fTPM not being detected? Does anyone know what TPM version, if any, Ryzen 3 3300X is supposed to have? I can't find any information through Google, so I'm hoping someone here with a 3300X can help me out. Seriously wishing I had spent the extra $100 and kept that an Intel system....but damn it's fast!!! Btw, if you're planning to "upgrade" to Windows11, it appears Microsoft has chosen not to support quite the list of newer processors.....including the 3300X, 5600G and 5700G....
Nevermind.... Problem resolved. Updated UEFI firmware and now everything is working as it should..... Hopefully MS comes to their senses and decides to support a wider list of processors.... Would hate to have to replace the 3300X just to upgrade Windows...
I can't think of any reason why a Ryzen 3 3300X would not support Windows 11... That said, I bet you custom cracked copies of Windows 11 become very popular because of Microsoft's stance on not supporting hardware that Windows 10 does.
There's actually a list posted of both supported and non-supported processors. That list of non-supported processors is a bit concerning as it contains the 3300X, the 5600G and 5700G..... The 3000G, 3100, 3300U, 5600X and 5800X are all supported, so there's no reason the 3300X, 5600G and 5700G aren't. Unless MS is going to add them to the list of supported processors later, this launch is going to be a lot like Vista....a complete crap show...
My guess is whoever created the "list" didn't know they existed... this is the level of competence of Microsoft in 2021.
I don't know who created the list, but the 3300X was launched more than a year ago along side the 3100.., and not silently....and after a bios update, I found it also supports TPM2, as required for Win11. Hopefully it gets added later.... I really don't want to replace it. I'm really liking how responsive it is compared to my R5 2600.... In regular desktop tasks, it just feels so much snappier. When I was decompressing files, 7zip was literally just flashing on the screen. I'm actually considering replacing my 2600 with a 3300X.....lol I'll probably just get a 3600 though.
I have a vague memory that Microsoft had a couple of processors left to test from the 3000 and 5000 series when the wrote the list. But that dos not matter. Ryzen 3300X supports TPM. And also the hard floor for TPM version is 1.2 for Windows 11.
My 2700X has TPM 2 and works for Windows 11; I'd have been surprised if 3000+ Ryzen didn't all have support for that.
Well, the 3300X I bought for my son may not last long. I have a 3600 on the way, and possibly a second one if I get lucky.
Hello, just wanted to mention this here about the 3300X: For anyone that gets here in the future, this popup came when running Microsoft's Windows PC Health Check on a machine running a Ryzen 3 3300X, and it seems it meets the requirements according to Microsoft, there's just no support yet.
