    All VEGA have HBM2.
You need to know the brand.
    You want Samsung.
You can use GPU-Z to check what it came with.

it says samsung after HBM2. thanks for info.
what are the benefits if I flash vega 64 bios except possible higher memory clocks?
taking into consideration that my card doesn't have a dual bios I don't know how dangerous this could be. I've never flashed GPUs.
also I read somewhere that in future driver updates they could block/make problems for vegas 56 flashed to 64?
    thx.

Thiking of upgrading the rx 480 to a vega 56 pulse, maybe with awater block on it. will it be worth it?

How come yours doesn't have a dual bios? MIne's the same, MSI Air Boost.
There is a switch to change between bioses.

Anyway, flashing unlocks voltages on the memory and higher default gpu clock.

https://www.3dmark.com/fs/19304391 The Score is now valid with the driver release yesterday. Posted the wrong screenshot...this is the now valid. Incidentally this is the highest score I believe of a single Vega 64.

    Challenge on!

I think i'll wait until 27.5, looking forward into navi presentation.

But if it turns out that it isn't that thing i'll consider to buy a vega56 nitro and try to unlock it.
BTW unlocking the card are there any issues when you do that ?
My Fury had a hardlock which is sad.
But the card is running good even on my new monitor.
Hope to be on vega soon .

    cheers guys

The main benefit is going from ~900MHz max on mem to 1100+ with the 64 BIOS. Trust me, that’s a real +10% free performance in many games. Vega cards need a lot of bandwidth (see the Radeon VII: 1TB/S of bandwidth).
Also, I see from pics that it has a dual BIOS, so there won’t be any problems even with a bad flashing (could happen, very very very rarely though).
This (https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/201941/msi-rxvega64-8192-171212) is a good BIOS for your card. It’s the Vega 64 Air Boost BIOS, and you can flash with this (https://www.techpowerup.com/download/ati-atiflash/).
Right after the flashing, set HBM frequency in Wattman at 1100MHz and test for crashing in games. If crashes, lower it 10MHz until it’s stable.
If you want to undervolt the card (HIGHLY recommended) the key is to lower the HBM2 voltage (which isn’t the true mem voltage, it’s sort of a base voltage for the entire Vega interposer) and then to lower the GPU voltage.

    thanks for the info mate.
I wasn't sure it has dual bios. I have to check for that. didn't find it mentioned anywhere. only that one photo with tiny switch. I have to check physically the card.

what about this statement I just came across:

"Bios flashing from 56 to 64 results typically in a hdmi or display port being rendered dead, plus trying to flash back from 64 to 56 fails, i have seen too many vegas becoming unflashable under software."

    true for all vega 56?
didn't see that before. I can't gamble with this if there is even a slight chance of this.

I had 3 vega 56 and all of them were flashed without a problem.
Right now, I have the same card as you, the Air Boost from MSI.
I switched to the power saving bios (Switch going to the left, pointing to the ports in the back) and I flashed it a couple of times without a problem.
Right now, I have the Air Boos BIOS of the Vega 64 Model.

Use this flashing utility, using the Command Prompt version. Not GUI.

I'm trying to realize if i have the worst HBM binning in the vega 64 history or there's something wrong with my PC in general.
My CPU and DDR4 overclock is stable under 4 hours Google stress app test, and i dont think cpu/ram oc crash GPU drivers, but whatever...
Core is fine up to 1700-1080v but overclock memory, even slightly and some crash will appear, even below 70c HBM. I can't even get 1000mhz HBM...
Ideas? I think that even Hynix HBM of vega 56 can do better than mine.

JUst got a ryzen 1600, the more I see how good is vega the more I want to get one.

the Sapphire pulse is just so tempting.

I do play alot of ARK and my rx 480 all unloked (1.3v) cant get good fps on that game i do like the bling of having all maxed out lol.
