When undervolting + overclocking, should you use +50% power limit or 0%? I am using +50% pl with p7 1697 with 1088v. So far so good 19.4.1 seem to have improved oc stability to me atleast

Im using Max +25% (for benches only)
For Gaming is from 0% up to +6%
    Normally i have -5% or -12% ;) (don't need more at 70-75Hz)

Seems like Gearbox Software used basically my PC (2700X, Vega 64) for the first journalists’ gameplays of Borderlands 3. They said that runs suuuuper smoothly and looks very good. I’m very happy, since I’ll definitely play it sooner or later.

Very often there’s no need of having the power limit too much over 0%, especially if you want (like me) the most efficiency and if your card is stable with deep undervolts. And by deep I mean like mine (~1500MHz-990mV core, 1100MHz-860mV HBM), because I have a couple of friends who can’t undervolt so much even with better cards (Nitro+).

Im playing now RE2 Remake :p
Using as always HBCC at 16GB VRAM !
In game Textures are set to Ultra (12GB VRAM)
In Adrenalin i see real usage at ~8->9.5GB game runs smooth as silk, and it looks stuning !
    In Umbrella Labs right now.....

UPD. > Finished ! Great game

IMhO HBCC is very good Tech, im not ditching my Vega XTX anytime soon :D (Waiting for Arcturus HBM3)

With HBM2 Tweak (Stable in Gaming up to 1180MHz! | OCL Stable >1200MHz)

    -> https://www.3dmark.com/fs/19264565

Using my Xtreme Gaming Profile (AC:O etc.)
One difference tho is HBM2 clock when Gaming i have 1125MHz at 918mV (a lot cooler this way)

If You can get cheap Vega64 then go for it (or 56 with Samsung HBM2 but You need to Upd. BIOS to 64)
    1. It have HBM2 with HBCC (Solid future proof, even 12GB can't choke this one out)
    2. It is really Fast when OC/UV is involved
    3. ATI Team will give Vega users RadeonRays ( it's not only for Navi)
    4. Great Moding Tools (OverdriveN & HBM2 Timing Tweaker)
    5. Matured Drivers

    Some todays DOOM session :)
A lot of skill will be needed for DOOM 2.... (need to finish Hardcore + some practice)

    Vega 64 at 70FPS is like 25tW :p

Is Furmark particularly intensive on HBM or what? Should i replace some thermal pads on my vega? +10c difference between core and hbm...

Edit: I am testing VSR 4k+ Witcher 3 for science. Check this after 10 minutes. This is with +50% power limit and p7 1687mhz core +1060v, everything stock except p5-p6 which are at +1050v.

@OnnA can you tell what is going on here? Power limited? HotSpot temp limited?

    @Synoxia ^^
Maby just try some POW at +1 up to +12% ?
Don't really need more (besides of Benchmarks)
Try to find sweet spot with UV, to maintain good temperatures (great for long gaming sessions e.g. BF1/V MP at >3h)

Also it is good to have some comparison with other Strix.
You can re-paste it for a lot better thermals :p (when good paste is on, Strix is similar to Nitro+)

Try: Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut + Pads

    Note:
Best advise for Vega users is to have:
1668MHz P7 at UV (depends on GPU)
1100MHz HBM2 with Out Tweaker (CL14 or 16 with my Timings)
    Play

Here is my settings for BFV MP long sessions (Yes it will be stable for majority of Vega users, only need to Tweak mV for Your GPU/HBM2)

Some AC:O session (not desert ;))
Mixed Ultra/High, AA, HO Settings, Chill 65-70FPS
Average of 64FPS, smooth but needs better OC on CPU IMhO.
Game is strange in terms of performance (nowhere near Doom or BFV in terms of Butter smooth)

    hi all.
just got MSI Radeon RX Vega 56 AIR BOOST 8G OC and it has HMB2 memory.
As I understand that's a good thing so what can I do with it? I don't care about benches just pulling the max out of it for gaming (1080p).
some pointers please cos I'm a long time nvidia fan and I'm a total noob regarding AMD GPUs for the last decade (my last ATI card was back in the radeon 9500/9700 era lol).
    thanks.

First You need to Know the Beast :p
Then Play some with our Tools (try to find Your sweet spot, as always)

    Make sure:
WattMan is set to Custom w/Manual V + don't use too much of Power %
OverdriveN Tool is for fast Profile switching (not all games need 1600MHz+ lol)
Try Mem Tweaker (adjust slowly, Play games to check if stable)
