Is audio out HDMI with video out to Dual Link DVI doable on the Radeon 580?

My monitor is Dual Link DVI and that works fine but if I connect a HDMI cable to the Radeon that I have run to my receiver the monitor goes blank.

It appears to default to HDMI for video and I see nothing in the settings to force DVI to be default.

What I want to do it use the Windows 10 Dolby Atmos plugin that needs HDMI for movies and game while keeping my display to the DVI.

    Is this even possible?

    Thanks

Connect a display to your receiver so you can see what you are doing and change the primary display output.
You may not be able to do this until both displays are active at the same time.

or do as i do , install vnc and use your phone/tablet to control the PC. I then set a hotkey (in my case CTRL,ALT 1 for PC 2 for PC+AMP) using %windir%\System32\DisplaySwitch.exe /External. This way when on extenal or even mirrored set the AMP as defualt audio device in sound settings, that way when the Amp is not on it defualts back to whatever it was before.
