Ok so my master harddrive (C drive, the harddisk where windows is installed) is running low on space.

I have a slave harddrive (D drive) which is basically empty and used for storing backup files etc but has no windows installed in it. I was wondering would an application work if I installed it in my D drive such as a game like COD 2?

I would upgrade if it weren't a laptop which brings me on to another question, can I upgrade my laptop and put a new hard disk in it? My laptop is new (bought it last month), its a dell Inspiron 9400.

Yea it would, I always install Windows on a separate partition so that I won't have to reinstall everything when I reformat.

Games and other apps work fine on drives that aren't the master.

Laptop hard drive upgrades are easy, it isn't even more difficult than upgrading a desktop. Right now you can get a 160GB 5400rpm drive, or a 200GB 4200rpm.

I don't care for warantees. If it works when you get it, the chances of something giving out before the warantee expires are slim.
