[RUMOUR] Nintendo Overclock the WiiU's CPU & GPU in new firmware update...

    unless the default CPU speed is actually 3.24ghz and nintendo downclocked the hardware with the firmware that was released with the console. now with this firmware update they are just removing that artificial limitation.

    i know its a longshot but you never know.

    Not likely, given how the PPC 7xx lineup was never a highly clocked lineup to begin with. I mean sheesh, the PPC 7xx arch was designed back in 2001; its functionally obsolete, and has been for about 5-6 years now. You can't magicially decide to suddenly add another 2Gz on top of what the chip is designed to do.

    Seriously people, is it really that hard to figure out what is real and what isn't?

    I could see Nintendo downclocking the CPU for power usage and heat, and maybe lowering the downclocking some, but not overclock. These chips don't hit very high anyway, what were the ppc7 based g4s clocked at highest, 1.6-2 ghz maybe? Same with the gpu.
