[RUMOUR] Call of Duty: World At War 2?

Call of Duty: World At War 2 is rumoured to be next official CoD. Developer is Treyarch. Loved WoW MP so I hope so.

edit: Box art has shown up on Amazon.

 

How the hell do they get away with this stuff? Do they just keep regurgitating the same crap over and over? Call of Duty is literally shovelware at this point.

Based on how they have been publishing games, lets just blindly confirm this and get it over with. :nerd:

While I really liked WAW ,COD games just need to go away for a couple years. If they were really creative they would try a new IP.. But,nah,too risky for Activision and that sucks for us..

they should remake and combine COD 2 and COD 5, as close to the originals as possible and release them on PC and on the new consoles only (not Xbox 360/PS4), I think it would sell quite well. Obviously they would have to sell it at a reduced price, but development should be a lot easier. Convert it to the new engine, use as many of the upcoming WAW 2 textures as possible, and finish it off with applying the effects.

 

Yes that would be awesome keep it all the same but with a modern engine, had some great sessions with the original

Yes, hopefully back to WW2, it just seems more fun? I don't think there should ever be a COD: AW (although I wouldn't be surprised if they were planning it). The AW standing for 'Alien Warfare'.

Somehow i knew they we're going for a WW2 themed COD this time.

 

New engine? LOL, COD games get released way too often for them to develop a new engine. All they do every year is add more shader effects to the engine and re-release. The engine is still the exact same as their prior games. I think at this point, they realize their fan base are a bunch of kids who can be tricked into thinking what innovation is.

Yes you are right, but the engine has been updated. It's the very reason why I suggested the COD 2 + COD 5, simply because they should be able to be converted without too many hassles. Also, they are WW2 based games, so many of the textures and other resources can be used from World at War 2, assuming it is WW2 based.

 

I loved the MP in World at War...heck...I still play it. If they include dedicated servers, I will buy.
