Dead horse in the sense that they have been stagnating for several years, due the lack of almost total competition in Bulldozer era. Many of the new Intel releases had little more to show than 100Mhz here or there. They were mostly the same CPUs, year after year.

The carelessness was so great, that now they are forced to use old architectures, because not even a new manufacturing process they can use properly.

Not so long ago, GTX 1070 for example, beat the GTX 980Ti for around 15%, costing $379 or $449 the FE Edition. The GTX 980Ti was a $650 card.

Traditionally, Nvidia's biggest leaps are when they have access to a shrink, something that didn't happen in the Turing (12nm is essentially the same 16nm). Changing now to 8nm, it is not surprising that there was a good jump again.

AOTS has always been the single high point for AMD in benchmarks and is obviously selected here for a reason (who the heck has even played it anymore in years, most of us never...). Not to mention that to compete with Nvidia you also need good software and other innovations.

"But the Resistance is built on hope", so no harm done from my point of view

And you specifically stated any GPU can run OLD games at 4k so how did you also miss your own statement, just wanted to prove yourself right did you?

And the 10 to the 20 series?
The performance increase 980ti vs 1070 was due to a shrink from 28nm to16nm but yes your right the price was lower for the 1070, however look at 1080ti performance and see which 2000 series card matches that and at what price, the 2080ti was officially a £1100 unit, have yet to see one at that price in Retail.
Your costs above are also very revealing, with the previous Gen there was a 15% drop in price this gen its more like a 60% as the 3070 is said to equal the 2080ti, I cannot for one second believe Nvidia left that much on the Table unless they had too

Dude, seems you are the one who is twisting my words to prove yourself "right". See my original post with an example of a 2020 game running at 4k. Never said "old games" but that is a given nonetheless. Stop misquoting ppl and clam up ffs.

Yep it's a pretty big bump for an OC.

30% standard? **** *** i would like to get good bin like that. I wonder where are all those mysterious bins cause i swear the cards i buy at the store do not even come close to that ever. My GTX 1070 was nowhere near those number. It was barely overclockable and the tiny overclock i had on it went unstable after 2 years and i had to put it back at factory speed.

Well the top 6000 score is 6200 and the top 2080ti score is 7800, i`d say the competition is the 3060ti at best, also given that this does not state which 6xxx was used.....i`ll take this with a massive scoop of salt.
