lol i can actually see the flicker of hope in your eyes as you type that. nvidia will discontinue the current SKUs & "reissue" the new cards with updated pricing - its not their business model to do us any favors ;)

lol. ever milked a cow thats not there?
no one will spend XXX amount of money, unless they actually planned to do that in the first place.

same reason i dont whine when the next lambo is more expensive than the last one and sour it for ppl that have/want one.
the ppl with the cash wont care, and the ppl that do, usually dont have the money to buy/own/drive one in the first place.

    @kakiharaFRS
    its either or.
black frame insertion is to improve motion, which means additional processing that increases input lag significantly.
13ms wont happen with motion (most likely ANY "added") processing, so you wont get BFI.
outside that i dont know an oled with a gaming profile you can select. (not made for gaming anyway).

I do hope people will ignore Nvidia and still go with AMD. So nvidia will remember this lesson for a loooooong time.

I don't know when RTX launched here in Canada you could find "cheap" 1080 for a couple of weeks after launch. In fact the price of the remaining 1080 when RTX launched made the 2070 price at launch totally ridiculous.

I'll go for the best bang for the bucks giving me significantly better performance at 2k than my 1070. AMD or nVidia it doesn't matter to me. So far there's nothing in nVidia (or AMD) lineup fitting the description. Maybe it will change with Navi and Super.

If not for capitalism there'd be no 3d-card market at all. In fact, there'd probably be no "3d", either--or cell phones or electric cars or desktop computers...well, you get the picture. At any rate, I've noted that when nVidia says "super" it usually revolves around $3k-$5k 3d-card launches!...;) (I run the other way when nVidia starts using superlatives.) Great thing about capitalism versus government coercion and mandates--one-size-fits-all societies--is that a person's participation in capitalist markets is 100% voluntary. You decide the extent of your participation. But I get that some people are afraid of having to make choices and self-direct their lives.

Right now decent 2080Ti is 1300 euros, if Nvidia drops price by 300 euros that's still 1000 euros for a GPU. I think it's absurd. I would consider 2080Ti if it was in 700-800 Eur range.

So what will the naming convention for the new cards be? Can understand 2060ti and 2070ti, but what about the 2080?

While I agree that these (rumored) prices are closer to what they should have been from the start I can't help but believe this is wishful thinking rather than genuine information.

It seems unrealistic that Nvidia would drop the prices that far in one go, or ever to be honest. The $300 Vega 56 has been a great deal when you've been able to find those and this would be significantly better as a permanent price drop as well as, you know, being Nvidia...

Seeing is believing of course and I'd gladly be wrong but if this happens at all we should hope it represents the actual prices and not the MSRP of some mythical version of the cards, similar to the "$1000" RTX 2080Ti situation if you will.

Edit: Also worth keeping in mind that this would effectively kill the 1660Ti and vanilla 1660 at the current prices, those would probably have to drop to $200/220 and $170/180 tops, respectively, to be compelling compared to the 2060 at $250.

A levelup for the 2080 ti would make it a 2080 Ultra

You got it backwards. Capitalism isn't forcing you to buy anything. Nor does it control how you live your life. In fact it gives you far more freedom to succeed and prosper how you see fit. And it definitely doesn't use the power of government to force you to buy medicare for all, carbon credits, a green new deal costing almost $100 trillion, and so forth and so on.

The problem is that big government and those pushing socialism have been slowly making inroads which has resulted in the current corporatism we're seeing today. Corporatism is not to be confused with capitalism.
