I disagree with this, for starters Microsoft did announce a new Age Of Empires game a while back so I wouldn't count them out. I wouldn't be surprised if they bought EA and started going after older titles considering that these types of titles don't even need to be marketed that much since they've already got decent fanbases.
Like you said, EA has a huge amount of titles under its property and that list is probably its most valuable treasure, along with its distribution channels.

If you ask me which developers would be willing to take old titles and remake them, I'd think if Microsoft and Blizzard. They're the only big devs that have recently expressed interest in older titles as far as I'm aware.

 

If they do end up buying EA maybe we can get halo on origin client, noise smooth 60 FPS 4k ooo baby.

 

Also, they are working on it. Sure, they're going for easy cash here in the first place, but you can't deny there's a Starcraft "HD" remake, as well as Age of Empires HD...

Origin is bad.. But Microsoft Store is even worse.. If they both cooperate.. !@##$!...
Last time when I bought Forza Motorsport 7, from MS Store.. I had really bad experience.
The game was: Very bugy. Ocassionaly delete all her files xD
Can't even chose destination/instalation folder, or copy for backup.
And had limmitted download speed. I redownload 3x ~100GB of data, in less than month.
More exclusives..? It's gonna be only worse...

 

Way too much of companies buying companies. I see MS messing up an already messed up company even more. Quantity over quality these days.
