Now, that's the RTX killer :D

Wonder what will the price be.

    599/699?

Hmmh interesting. How big of a change is Ampere arch wise? Since I would guess 3072 would perform somewhere around 3072 with same clocks else. You know 3070 is around 2080 super.

Take xx80 series, half CUDA cores, get the xx60 series CUDA cores.

So 1920 cores for the ~300 bux version? With higher clocks and better IPC that would be somewhere between 2070 and 2070 Super performance. Gotcha.

up to 20 GB VRAM on 3080....I don't think they will launch a card with that kind of memory size for gamers - maybe on quadro version.

I am curious about RTX 3080 Ti...nothing on that yet....

The naming convention is strange: RTX 3080 is a high end product but it uses an uneven name: GA 103.
Previously Nvidia always used even names for high end products: 1080 - GP 104, 2080 - TU 104, etc

Interesting I expect these new models to have substantially more rt cores to make the feature actually usable. Either way I know this is just a rumor but the shader count looks good.

    I call you cynical!

With their recent policy of cutting prices and AMD breathing down their neck I don't think that they will set these prices too high...

What this new generation should have is a much better performance/price ratio.

Even if 3080 is only "slightly" faster than 2080 Ti (or even a bit slower), if it costs only $600 (or less!), then it will be a great product !
And 3070 needs to return back to $400 price range, and if that is considerably faster than 2080, then a LOT of people will buy it.

Turing really stretched it with pricing, even NV fanboys like myself said ... NO, JUST NO. WAY too much.

Eh, no... it's a massive fail if it doesn't deliver considerably faster performance than turing, as turing barely upped the performance over pascal...

Yes, very impressive. ~25% extra performance with a small ~33% price increase.

Smallest generational increase in performance... ever (well except for 480 to 580, which wasn't really a new gen). Go and have a look at 780 ti to 980 ti, and 980 ti to 1080 ti... that's the kinda performance increases you want with a new gen.

If 3080 has same clock speed as 2080 Super or higher (which is possible with 7nm) then it should easily beat 2080 Ti even Ampere has no architecture improvements

20GB video ram is useless and overkill. I doubt it will have more than 10GB for consumer. 20GB is probably for the quadro version
