RX6500 non XT , i mean can you really gimp that card more ? , what reduced clocks ? 32bit bus ? reduced clocks ?. When you get in levels of 1050 it , its bottom minimum , below that is OFFICE/TV work , and that can do ANY CHEAP INTEL IGPU.

1050 Ti is the new medium range card......

I wish my comment was a joke.

''These would come between June and July, barely three or four months before the RX 7000 range, thus their launch makes little sense if they will be superseded by far better technology in three months''

I think RX 7000 will be released mid November or early December, so if RX 6x50 will come in June or July its around half of the year so I'm sure miners will appreciate it XD

For those interested the WX 6400 (the pro version of the RX 6400) is already in shop.
It's an office GPU, and NO it can't do TV as it can't support some standard (it's the same problem than RX 6500 XT)...

16mb infinity cache works magic according to some g3d users.
not according to amd,in their own slides they said it needs +64mb to really make a difference.

The current 6500xt should already be the 6400 with how much of a turd it is and it should cost much less

magic is -... infinite word , has infinite definitions .

One of them is being useless above certain threshold.

Depends on the resolution. Here's the slide with cache hit rate, adjusted for cache size.
But even at 1080p, 16MB of IF has only a 37% hit rate. It's something, and it help bandwidth, but it's not magic at all.

Another 300€ tetraplegic GPU? Isn't it better to buy Ryzen 5600G at this point?

    6700xt has 69% for its designed 1440p resolution,to compete with nvidia's 256-bit cards.
37% for a 64-bit card is way too low to compete with 128-bit 3050.it's hardly effective, and still costs area.better get rid of it and make a 6GB 96-bit cache-less card.

Well very few claimed it is magic do not put us on the same boat. The way i see it , it helps . But amd put on a runner in the sprint race and to reduce the cost cut off one of his legs 64bit instead of 128bit bus and pci4x... Then gave the sprinter crutches(16mb inf cache) to help him race... Does it help ? Yeah it does he can finish the race now ... Can he win ? No not at all :p

Just to add some sauce , another new AAA game that 64bit + 4gigs = uber fail .

My old GTX1060 manages to beat it by good margin and much better frame lattency.

It's true that a hit rate of 37% is low, but also consider that IF has a bandwidth of roughly 1GB/s. And it has a much lower latency than vram.
So whatever is in there, it's accessed very, very fast. I'll bet 64bit bus+16MB of cache is faster than a 96bit bus.
I think it's a good thing that the 6500XT has those 16Mb of L3 cache. The issue is that AMD cut down the memory subsystem to much.
A 64bit bus, with 4Gb of vram and PCIe X4, just chokes the card every time the memory subsystem is pushed.
Seriously, a 64bit memory bus is just pathetic. Even my TNT2 Ultra had a bus of 128bits, almost 25 years ago.
This card should have a 128bit bus, PCIe X8, and the 16MB of Infinity cache. The 4Gb of vram would still be a limiting factor, but not that much. Other 4Gb cards aren't suffering as much as the 6500XT from a 4GB vram pool.

would you buy a 6850 card if it was available near msrp ? I think I still would buy 6850/xt even just before rdna3 launch if it was msrp.

The 5600g is actually a super capable igpu I have one clocked at 2300mhz with some flarex running4133mhz runs very well and u can throw a real gpu in when they become available. To me the 5600g and 5700g are the best options for new builds if u can't get a gpu.

I´m thinking the same, how the hell are they going to make that crap even worse??? Are their engineers magicians? Or maybe sociopaths?...

If they can manage to cram the power of say a 1060 into the APU next to no one would need a discreet card. I guess AMD would shoot themselves in the foot with graphics cards sales but it would increase the CPU sales side so it would probably even out.
