I only compared same wattage meaning a MEG Ai1000p vs the RM1000x where the MEG costs 1000 SEK more. If I compare the MEG AI1000p to a HX1000i the MEG is 700 SEK more expensive.

In a way I guess we're not surprised but still. And why is your 3000-series suddenly loud? That's the weirdest one. Sucks bigtime!

Fair enough - ax1600i is nearly 4000 dkk, were as the MEG 1300 costs 3000 dkk :)

But no, not too surprising... still sux though :/

As for the 3090... at least it can be made quiet with UV, and barely lose any performance. The 4090 didn't become noticable more quiet at 900 mv... not till it was down to 700 mv it started becoming more quiet, at which point it was losing like 30% performance aswell.

    Guys, do you think upgrading from 12900K / 32GB DDR4 3600 CL14 to 13700K / 32GB DDR5 6000 CL32 is worth it?
I have 240Hz 1440p screen and was wondering how much more fps I could get from my 4090.

    6 fps : 289 to 295
    2 from 12900k to 13700k
    2 from ddr4 to ddr5
2 from old mb to new mb.

Yeah worth it. Go buy and make everybody laugh.

After watching comparison videos, going from 12900K to 13700K would give me from 5 to 10 fps more, and going to DDR5 6000 would give me up to 10 fps more, so overall 15-20 fps more tops, not bad but I guess its still not worth it and better to wait for another gen.
Btw I power limited my 4090 to 85% and OC'ed it slightly so it gives the same performance but lower temps and it uses around 60w less.

30 to 45-50 you can fell the difference

but 95 to 110-115 or 175 to 190-195 or 325 to 340-345 nobody can tell the difference.
it's just numbers on the screen and means nothing.
just placebo pc gaming joke and your brain is tricking you.

    anyways.

Not worth it to a 13700k, fps would be very similar. A 13900k would be an upgrade but as to whether it's worth it, that's a personal decision.

See a few posts up, in CPU limited games, it looks like a RAM upgrade can make a difference, maybe up to 10%. https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/rtx-4090-owners-thread.444978/page-54#post-6076587

I've got some 4600mhz DDR4 coming tomorrow and will post my findings vs 3600 C18.

You also know how to undervolt!

You gave me the suggestion to try 2850@1v. It works like a charm. Now I have double the performance of my 3080ti while often using a lot less power! Worst case scenario, it uses 400W.:cool:

yeah I got some experience undervolting Titan X, 1080Ti, 2080Ti and 3090 before :D, much prefer the more consistent frametimes and lower noise.

4090 easily beat 3090 by 80% at the same power consumption, better yet my entirely aircooled 13700KF + 4090 is quieter than my previous custom watercool loop with 6x Noctua NF-A12 fans

Still on the lookout for a Strix 4090 OC - these so-called 'drops' on NewEgg & BestBuy are a joke - they are sold in less than a second.

    Sigh...

The Cablemod 12+4 pin 12VHPWR to 4x8 pin extension cable I ordered a month ago before I got my new PSU finally arrived, it seems to have a very good, snug fit (which the ASUS cable that came with my PSU that kept slipping out by itself after a while didn't have) and work pretty well with my 4090 TUF so far:
I'll order a full set of (shorter) cables for my ASUS Thor P2 1200W PSU once the 180° 12VHPWR adapter from them becomes available, right now all those PSU cables with extensions I'm using just barely fit in the back chamber of the O11D Evo.

Unless you're trying to set overclocking records, the Strix does nothing above what any other 4090 can do. Except lighten your wallet.

Isn't that undervolting while overclocking? :) At stock my boost is 2730MHz, so setting it to 2850@1v would be undervolt + overclock :>

Yeah, it's overclocking the 1v bin or undervolting the 2850mhz bin, take your pick. Or have both :)

This is very much the sweet spot for the 4090 IMHO
