OK guys. I have a choice between the Zotec 4090 OC AMP and the Asus Tuf 4090 OC. Which card?

It also looks like I'm going AMD 7950X With DDR5 6400 ram. I can complete this build today instead of waiting for the 13900k.

 

Asus tuf - no question.

As for the cpu, the 7950x aint that great for gaming - but im not sure if it's purely a gaming rig ?

But do note that only 1200 watt psu's (or above) can give 600 watts through this cable.

 

I'm really hoping these cards undervolt well and I'll be able to get stock performance for not much over 400W. It will be so much kinder on the rest of my PC!

 

But it's really only needed for asthetics. GN indicated that the adapters provided with the 4090s have some sort of load balancing capability so functionally should perform as well as a true 12VHPWR cable.

 

I got the ASUS RTX 4090 TUF OC on the way, would have preferred the FE but they were gone in literal seconds.

Looking forward to messing with it.

 

Well, im not a fan of using that dodgy adapter with 600 watt OC - it's a disaster waiting to happen.

It will also block airflow a fair bit with those 4x cables dangling from the adapter.

 

Didnt think FE was available in EU at all - but gz on the TUF

 

and looks like a frankenstein, well all do.. xD

Dimensions of the card are 36.0 x 15.5 cm, and it weighs 2504 g.

 

I actually made it to the "Add to basket" screen for the FE before it then went instantly out of stock.

 

It's deffo not a pretty card, but i dont care tbh - can't see it anyways in my cosmos 2 case

Only how good the cooler is matters to me.

 

True, cooling is impressive 61C, almost like that liquid from Msi , 3C difference lol

 

Still can't believe that 4090 FE uses less power than the 3090Ti 3rd party

So check out the Cablemod Corsair cable perhaps? I assume it's better than nothing?

Called my store, they got over a 100 orders in queue for the TUF non-OC. Restock time is unknown so that really sucks I'm a bit bummed that I didn't place a back up order for the MSI Gaming Trio in another store. Anyway, I hope I'll get the same nice surprise as with my 3080 where I simply got one two weeks after launch despite crazy queues.

Time to watch some review videos!

 

Sux that you are that far back in the queue - did you order as fast as you could at you could when the clock hit 15.00 ? Ya should have ordered the tuf at proshop

I don't know exactly where I am, just that they got that many orders I'll actually try and call them tomorrow and ask. Yea, I pressed F5 until I saw availability at 15:02, it took one minute to order (15:03) and got my order confirmation at 15:04 How did you do?

I've heard there are scripts one can use for ordering but I'm not that high tech

 

I had already logged in and filled out all info - i just needed to add it to basket and complete order. So i pressed refresh at 15.00 and had it ordered 10 sec later

 

Well, there's no indication that it's dodgy and running these cards at 600W has been shown to be quite pointless. If you're concerned about airflow being hurt by an adapter, your case is probably not suitable for a 4090, let alone at 600W!

 

@Dragam1337 Just got the notification, reception tomorrow morning. Time to reinstall Crysis and cyberpunk i guess !
