This monster has gobbled practically everything in its path. Ever since @endbase found the BIOS update this machine has delivered BIG TIME. Before the update I was so frustrated and started removing parts. The only reason I didn't go all the way was because I contemplated doing a separate build in a different case. I've seen framerates over 50fps in Cyberpunk with native 4k, all settings maxed and Raytracing on Psycho. Unreal. Forza Horizon 5???? Dudes.......... I playing with 8x AA, FXAA and all settings maxed. Never dipped below 100fps at Native 4k res. With Vsync off and unlocked framerate I've see frames as high as 150+ and it looks astonishing! My new settings in the BIOS DOCP II AI Overclocking Enhanced New Core Voltage settings Additional memory timings I'm sure there are more but I enabled these 2 and it was off to the races. My processor fluctuates from 5.6 to over 5.8 and my ram speeds are at a full 6400mhz. I don't need DLSS or DLSS3 for Spider-Man. At Native 4k with max settings I'm now over 100fps up to over 120fps. Before the BIOS update my frames ranged from the 40's to low 60's fps with max settings. My motherboard now fully recognizes the 4090 and the 7950x is doing its job in amazing fashion. CPU temps while gaming never exceed 62 thanks to the Kracken and 10 fans. The PC stays quiet. You dudes have helped a lot! I'm truly enjoying the upgrade.
No issues here. I will still order the newest cable from Cable Mod. I'm glad Jay conducted this test.
Does the clinfo command work? If not, export your new LD_LIBRARY_PATH to include the libraries for cl shared objects Example clinfo
Sorry but, "FR"? I agree about boosts in 4K though. I updated BIOS but I haven't done any CPU OC just cause it's complicated. Tried PBO but lost 100MHz due to that. Guess I could try the CO tool again, if it's still functioning? Tell me more about HYDRA. That's true At least with a lot of DLSS.
Regarding Nvidia 12vhpwr cables, in this article, the adaptor is disected and its not pretty what they found inside. Please read folks https://www.igorslab.de/en/adapter-...hot-12vhpwr-adapter-with-built-in-breakpoint/
What are your stock boosts in games? Mine does 2745-2730 out of the box which seems to be on the lower side.
test out some overclock+undervolt in Plague Tale Requiem 2475mhz/875mV 2775mhz/925mV +210mhz offset looks like undervolting is still the way to go for 4090
Right DLSS3 is very cool indeed and works very well in A Plague Tale. Too bad so few games support it. I want DLSS3 in CP2077 for example.
I got my ASUS RTX 4090 TUF Gaming today. Great card for 4k/120 and high resolution/refresh rate VR even. Very nice. Can't wait to get a good water block for it to add it to my custom loop.
As for coil whine, I thought I'd update @Dragam1337 , @Netherwind , @FR4GGL3 & Co.: My 4090 TUF card doesn't appear to have any. I even shut all the fans in the PC off for a couple of seconds for each game (Cyberpunk 2077, RDR2, Spider-Man, God of War, Control, F1 22, FIFA 23, Star Wars Squadrons to test it - it's quiet. I only tested the card's stock settings (450W). My Power Supply is a SuperFlower Leadex II Gold 1200W, my GPU that's vertically mounted is connected via the included adapter with 4x6+2 pin connected with 4 individual cables that are each connected directly to the PSU.
It's coming. It will indeed be fun to try out. Native 4k without DLSS can get ya mid thirties to 50s in framerate depending in the scene. I have to be careful. I find myself playing in native due to the eyecandy. The framerate will take a hit in heavily populated sections and Psycho Raytracing. Quality is still beautiful of course but native is a work of art! Even with the drop in framerate.
Cablemod just got my order this morning. My safe from fire and dependable EVGA 3080 will soothe me through this trying time.
I noticed that unlike my old RTX 3090, my RTX 4090 defaults to classic Line Based IRQ instead of MSI mode. Has anybody noticed this? Does aynbody have an idea why that may be the case?
Not too shabby. Still gotta workout in the gym but hey, I'm getting there. 10,338 https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/81950459?
