Bf2042 also has quite shitty cpu utilization - massive step backwards compared to previous battlefield games...
There's a lot of talk on reddit that UK outlets are "scapling" and increasing prices by 300-400£. There was a Gigabyte post that I read briefly where they were devastated by shops adding a lot to the price tag making customers angry AF. Edit: Found the post https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/y6gw8t/gigabyte_benelux_absolutely_unhappy_of_behavior/
They are literally all doing this. Every shop, everyone who buys b2b. Can't get a 4090 for 2k in Austria, and I don't believe in Germany either.
Same, cheapest (Gainward) is like 2300 euros, most expensive (Strix) almost 2900 euros. None in stock though, only resellers sites you can find some in the 3000+ euros range from the 2nd layer of scalpers. I can almost guarantee that they don't even sell these on retailer sites, but directly to scalpers (after scalping said scalpers beforehand), since I have stock alert for all 4090s and I didn't get a single notification...
Thanks Nether, yup, looks bang on. It was the same for the 3090 - formerly respectable retailers like Scan and OCUK happily robbing end users of money, because they can. They'll probably make up some BS reason about import tax or Covid or blah blah, but it's all about profit and juicing everything they can from people. And they're getting away with it because plenty of end users will spend whatever they ask for a 4090, just to get one, despite the fact they are 'worth' £1600-£2000 tops. Covid has really exposed greed for what it truly is, and in the UK, computer components especially high in demand Nvidia GPUs are being used to exploit the customer. I was 'fortunate' to find a 3090 back in the day for £1700 at the height of scalping, but the retailer was at least not robbing me blind and that was a reasonably fair number for an aftermarket card (FEs were £1400).
Yes, I've heard Europe is just as guilty for it - there's been a grotesque price hike since Covid and Brexit, and business practises are getting close to criminal in tone. Simple example - I like those sound relaxation apps for your phone, you know, chill to the wind and rain etc. Back in the day, if you wanted all the sounds you paid £2, 69P, £5, whatever was fair, and once you paid, you unlocked them and that was that. Now? It's £10 A MONTH to SUBSCRIBE to these sounds, and if you don't keep paying the big money you lose the sounds. And that shadiness is commonplace, charging more, giving less, all in the name of 'honest profit. People have never been so scammed before by 'legal' means.
Is there any free games we get with this purchase? I saw on ASUS they have that horrendous GPU bracket as a free item lol.
Ive been checking my normal places and nothing, hopefully the 7*** series is competitive at something so 'may' drive down prices across the board.
