Bold statement. 4070ti has the edge, dlss3 its a better card but not much faster. Compared to 3090 for example which has double the bandwidth and the memory at 4k has an advantage.

if you're so concerned about 4K bandwidth, go into the 7900xt/xtx thread and show them this

Greetings team, I am expecting my ASUS GeForce RTX 4070 Ti TUF OC to come tomorrow and was wondering if it is better to DDU and do a clean swap and install the new drivers. I have seen people advising to just put the new card in and update, it would be nice to keep my settings in NVCP (pity there is no save)

I think I'll just do the lazy mans swap and see what happens, I'll save before and after MW2 benchmarks with all game and NVCP settings the same. Then maybe a DDU and a clean install and check again

    back later

just reinstall the driver, it'll take care of its own cleanup.

For me, I went from a 3080ti to 4090 without DDU and it was fine.

In the past I have hit occasional issues, which DDU fixed. It wont hurt to run it.

For updating Nvidia hardware, install the new driver choose "custom" and then choose "clean installation".

If I were going from Nvidia to AMD or vica versa, then yes DDU.

Try first Reinstall then NV Clean install and then DDU.
Should be fine IMhO and You'll have settings untouched.

It all went well, did a swap and all was good, put in the new drivers and everything is still fine. Loving the card, I think my cpu is hindering but I have been enjoying MW2 MP with everything on ultra still getting a good average fps

    game benchmarks

    Greetings team,
I want to ask, I just bought a 4070ti ventus oc , there's something strange when I just enter Windows and let it idle for 5-10 minutes, suddenly the fan goes up to 67%,
the settings have been set manual
at 30% or set at auto at 0% at idle, gpu temperature 33 34C, and if enter msi afterburn, click setting profile 1,
the fan will go down according to the settings

    Does anyone know why?

I have the pny 4070 ti oc
@TheDeeGee I have two questions for you. Does yours have the red port where the fans connect and if so do you know what it is? I can't find anything anywhere about it. Second, when I set it up, for the first few months I would idle at 25-30 degrees. I could stream 1080 video without it breaking a sweat. Fans didn't even come on. Now the second I load signal rgb to shut the default rgb down they come on and run about 1000 rpm and won't go off for anything. I use the velocity app that pny put out. The two processes that keep my gpu at 1-3% instead of 0 are desktop window manager and client server runtime process. Any ideas?

@Mda400 I have one question for you. I've read about changing the bios on gpus but being that this is my first build I've never done it. Do you know if my card has duel bios as again I can't find anything on the card relating to this either. Regardless, duel or not do you know if mine can be flashed and is there one you would recommend?

If you guys see this and decide to help me out, thank you in advance for your time.

Your card does not have dual bios. It should be able to cross-flash to another vendor's vbios, (like this zotac with 366w power limit), but NVFlash will have to be set to bypass the PCI ID /vendor mismatch between the two.

Red port is most likely for additional RGB.

Can't comment on the fan issue as i have deshrouded my card and control the fans via FanControl (by Rem0o).

I also have the regular version, not the OC model. Just to avoid factory OC issues.
