its hardware overlay related and afaik only affects DSC displays.
Yeah, I saw it after I installed the 496.49 driver as well. After restarting I hadn't seen it since then, but if it becomes a constant issue I'll try your workaround. Thanks.
here another video of the issue
don't need more videos, need manuel supplied kernel dumps and information on your attached display.
^^^ I'd like to know if anyone has done that yet.
I had this exact same thing when I got my 3080 and did a driver update. At first I didn't notice it, but I had to lower gpu clocks eventually. Went back a driver and it was gone.
After some vbios updates and newer drivers it never happened again. Some drivers push the gpu more than others, and in my case I had to revert my overclock or use different drivers.
Can't remember which driver it was though, it was early 2021 and my card was shipped with unstable bios. Asus presented several bios updates for my card since then.
Manuel is still waiting on those submitted crash dumps.
Same issue on my strix 3060ti. The patches are gray for me and shows in different locations everytime mostly happens when watching youtube on google chrome.
Disabled DP DSC on my Asus monitor and Issue went away. all normal now.
It happened again with DP DSC off don't no what to do.
