hey guys, when i run the Kombustor stresstest i get a black screen. The fans of my gpu are turning off, but my pc is still on. When i wait for a few minutes, the fans of my card ramp up to 100%, but nothing else happens. Only fix is to hard reset my system.

When i hard reset immediately after the black screen, my mainboard speaker makes 1 long, 3 short beeps, meaning that no Graphic card was detected. I restart again and its booting.

Temperatures are all fine, GPU is around 60-68 ?C. I have not overclocked the card. I run this system for 6 months without problems, although i play with 60fps capped, so i never really stressed the GPU that much. i am clueless at this point, i just hope i dont have to RMA something. sorry for the bad english, its not my native language.^^

It could be various pieces of hardware, but i would first disable XMP on your memory and use default frequency/timings, then use Nvidia Driver Version: 451.67 if disabling XMP does not solve the issue.

Start with these two changes and see if it helps. If it doesn't, try disabling Hardware Accelerated Graphics Scheduling.if enabled.
If you keep ending up with that motherboard beep code, it is likely a faulty graphics cards or motherboard/firmware.

While card could run a little slower, try to plug your card in lower PCIE slot if anything changes.

thanks for your answers. i send it to rma, yesterday. i have tested with a 1060, did run a stress test for 20 mins, no problems. My 2070s turned it self off after a few seconds. the 1060 is not really comparable to the 2070s, but its a good Indicator. i had noticed some coil whine too while running the stress test with the 2070s, which wasnt there before.

and in normal gaming or benchmarks?

Nvidia did a driver lock for such apps as kombustor or occt a while ago with Fermi+. To artificially limit TDP and lower clocks, etc.

Maybe some sw part didnt play nice with newer turing cards..

in gaming and benchmarks, as soon as the card was at full load. last time i tested was with superposition benchmark 1080p extreme. the 2070s didnt even get to the 2nd screen.
