Hey guys I have some questions I ordered a RTX 2060 to replace my old GTX 970 cuz I like to play everything in max settings and the GTX 970 begins to suffer with the new games of 2019. So my first question is, I made a good choice ? My second one is, its enough 6GB for my resolution ? Im running 1080p resolution, and I have no plans to change it.
You should be fine, here is a video about current VRAM usage in games with GTX2060, even though it's been tested for 1440p resolution.
6GB is enough even for 1440p and also still OK for most 4K (of course a 2060 won't run 60FPS 4K on most modern titles.) But it might not age as well as a 2070. For 1080p though, it should last quite a while. For 1440p, it depends on your target FPS; if you intend to switch to a 1440p high refresh monitor at some point and want to target "better than 60", a 2070 would be more future-proof. Anyway, TLDR: perfectly fine card for 1080p and high FPS.
