From awhile im using MSI Afterburner (4.6.2 beta1) and RTSS (7.2.3) to track my CPU/GPU temps while gaming and im noticing a pretty annoying issue that is appearing in WoW BFA from quite awhile.

Randomly im seeing UI elements to flicker or flickering squares. Its happening only in this game (No issues in WoW Classic). When i turn off RTSS i see no issues at all.

Is this a RTSS issue or the game itself? I tried reinstalling the windows/different drivers and even got a new GPU.

    A few examples:

After playing on the Shadowlands beta i noticed the same issue there too.

You will see it. There are dozens of threads about UI flickering in WOW DX12 without overlays. There are claims that it is driver bug. There are NVIDIA drivers promising a fix in UI flickering specifically for WOW. And I’m afraid my vacation time doesn’t worth to be wasted on investigating third party issues in a game I absolutely dislike, sorry.

There are, but theres a handful of recent reddit posts that in tandem with recent nvidia drivers, closing out of RTSS resolves the flicker

I'm not saying RTSS is a cause, just a possible factor when certain driver optimizations are in use in certain games., and tbh theres been atleast one case where the provided profile didn't do anything in WoW, blizzard is still investigating from their end, but their forums are basically unpostable if you don't have an active sub xD

Its still happening even with the custom profile.

Then you’re out of luck. Wait for some possible fix from driver or Blizzard side, switch to D3D11 renderer or don’t use RTSS. I definitively won’t waste vacation in it, sorry.

    Fill this out too: https://forms.gle/kJ9Bqcaicvjb82SdA

Nvidia might be able to identify something at their end with this information.

I found your post on the WoW forums, that is not the same flickering that i know that the profile patch rectifies (thats actually hair/shadow textures going black on certain screens)

This seems to be some sort of synchronisation that the wow renderer is afflicted with when overlays from any vendor are used, not just RTSS.

Thats not my post. There are different type of flickering issues with the game right now. One is the one you saw and the other one is the one im dealing with. I do not have flickering issues with the game world, only the UI is flickering.
