Nope, this guess is incorrect. Monitoring is a HUGE part of MSI AB itself, it includes own driver so of course it won’t migrate to RTSS.

 

Sorry for delayed reply, I had serious health issues during past month (happily not a COVID-19, just a flu but rather hard one). But I'm OK now and I'm returned to development and ready to share some development related news with you.

The plugin I was talking about is ready to be presented. And no, it is not Unwinder.dl and it is not some porn (sadly). It is called OverlayEditor.dll and it is an advanced hypertext editor. During the last couple years some streamers were raving about commercial visual overlay editors and claim that such functionality can never be added to free applications. I'm gonna prove that it is marketing and absolutely not true. The plugin was developed by a single developer, in approximately 3 weeks, in my spare time after my fulltime software development job. Just 250Kb of compiled binary, just 500Kb of source code. It is not a complex thing from development point of view. It is not something that cannot be shared with community for free. It is not something that requires even donations to "support development". It is a development that gave me a lot of fun and I'll gladly share it with you. Furthermore, the plugin is fully open source so you can improve the hypertext editor yourself if you wish. The video is demonstrating the process of creating new overlay layout with my comments. It also demonstrates advanced tricks, such as:

- Usage of dynamic text layers with a reference to external text files
- Using correction formulas to convert sensor reading to different units
- Using unified overlay layout for multiple monitoring applications
- Embedding custom graphics into font texture and using static images to display logos in overlay
- Embedding animated frames into font texture to display custom graphics indicators (round CPU usage indicator)

We're getting closer and closer to the next public 7.3.0 beta. I've added a lot of improvements and new GUI features to upcoming visual hypertext editor plugin during the last week. The most useful and interesting ones are reviewed in this video:

We traditionally first launch it here to let it be tested by this thread readers only, then launch it in news a few days (or weeks) later.

Of course they do. Just like the installer. Let me focus on development please and leave this thread for different things instead of "how do I get it working" please.
