I have a Leadtek 6800 LE. Bit 2 & 3 (pixel unit 2 & 3) was hw masked, and so was bit 11 & 13 (vertex unit 3 & 5). I have unlocked all of them, now running 16 & 6 at 410 & 910 at 1,1 V and 435 & 925 at 1,2 V
nice ! now thats value ! obliviously you changed or tweaked your Bios ? i was going to do that to my Leadtek 16 pipe non Ultra, but i'm kinda leary .... it does 375/850 100% stable @ stock bios. sooooo
Wheeee... ! I used Rivatuner 15.3 and finally opened the 2 hw masked units. It didn't work with 15.2 be4. Asus GF6800: HW masked: Pixel unit 2 and Vertex unit 3. 16x1.6 vp now. 3Dmark03 be4 --> 9322 3Dmark03 after --> 10304 Almost a nice 1000 points gained. Thankz Unwinder 4 this

How do you know for sure this is actually working I have seen increased scores in 3D mark 05 and Aquamark 03 But not sure how to tell if the enabled units are actually working? Forgive the Dumb qusetion LOL
catkicker: "$0100000000 Graphics core : NV40 revision A1 (16x1,6vp)" it think this means its working. but go to the main tab of RivaTuner, and if it says this "256 Bit NV40 (A1, 16x1, 6vp) with 128DDR" then its working forsure.
Thanks for the help. 256 Bit NV40 (A1, 16x1, 6vp) with 128DDR By the way pixel unit 2 and vertex unit 3 were disabled on my PNY 6800
Hi, I am new to the forums Pixel unit 3 and Vertex unit 3 were disabled - working fine now with an Inno3D 6800 Will do some overclock as soon as my NV Silencer 5 arrives. With stock clocks but 16x1,6vp: 3dmark 03 - 9900, 3dmark 05 - 3600. How can I make such a BIOS dump ""$0100000000 Graphics core : NV40 revision A1 (16x1,6vp)" ? I want to make sure it's actually running 16/6. RivaTuner says 16x1,6vp in the customize line.
I have an MSI NX6800 (one that came with the copper heatsink, not one of the new ones with reference coolers, in case that correlates with moddability), and the card seems to be working perfectly with 16 pipelines and 6 shaders. I've played some CS:S and run 3dmark 05, and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary with either. (Actually I got the WinXP equivalent of a BSOD after the first demo in 3dmark 05; I turned off agp fast writes in the BIOS (I'd heard people having crashes with that turned on), and the problem didn't happen again. Also, my framerate in the first demo was about twice what it was during the first run when I still had agp fast writes on. For now I'll assume this had nothing to do with the pipelines I enabled. I never ran 3dmark05 before I enabled the pipelines, so I can't tell whether the same problem would've occurred with the pipelines disabled and agp writes on or not.)
leadtek 6800nu 12/6vp. tried two cards both same result, pixel unit defective. (artifacts in 3dmark03) oc'd to 385/819, 9878 on 3dmark03. seems the leadtek NU really have defects.
defective pixel and vertex units. Was wondering if these 6800 LE,NU are actually Cards that started out as GT or ultra and were found durring testing to have defective units and instead of trashing them they downgraded them to 6800's,LE or NU's In reading all the post there are a bunch of 6800's with defective pixel and vertex units. Just a thought:eek2:
Kicked my Gainward 6800 LE out of the window and bought an MSI NX6800 instead. This was one awesome card which gives me a nice 16x1,6vp I've overclocked the mem a bit so i have 350/900 on it now. I get a respectable 11497 in 3dmark03. Will voltmod it a bit tonight so i can clock the GPU upto atleast 400 i hope. Maybe i'll break the 12k barrier. Would be a nice score on a regular 6800 i think. btw. the MSI card is so damn nice... awesome copper cooler which leaves my card at 48 C idle and 52 C at full load. Ambient is about 35 C. /Nikmind
new to all this and have been reading up quite extensively. finally learned what a pipeline was. anyway, i stopped on page 20 so i might have missed some so bare with me. has anyone had any damage/major errors/other problems from running masked p/v's? i'd like to try and open mine but i'd rather not risk the card's integrity in doing so.
Hi guys ! I want to know how can i see what vertex shaders and pixel shaders are hw masked ? And how can i unlock them and make them work with RivaTuner ?... I have Axle GF FX 5900XT PRO with default frequencies: standart 2D: core-300MHz;RAM-800MHz. performance 3D: core-390MHz;RAM-800MHz. I OC it as follow: standart 2D: core-310MHz;RAM-920MHz. performance 3D: core-440MHz;RAM-920MHz. This frequencies i apply with default cooling... Once i manage even to made OC on these frequencies: performance3D: core-476MHz;RAM-972MHz...for about 20 minutes...!!! But i was scared to use Aquamark3 or 3D Mark 2003...whatever...
I have a strange bfg 6800 oc. The default is 12x1,6vp. It shows only pixel unit 3 hw mask. Artifacts when unmasking.
unit 3 was unmasked on both, both work, on my Gigabyte 6800, it's such an awsome card, can easly do 400/920 with crappy cooling, installing my high RPM fan tonight on it. 12/5 Stock Clocks 3dmark 01 - 13,940 fill rate 2 = 3790.0 Mtexels 3dmark 03 - 8191 16/6 3dmark01 - 14090 Fill rate 2 = 5090.0 Mtexels 3dmark 03 - 8899. With it overclocked i broke 10k, but i don't recall the exact numbers, TY so much for rivatuner, bought the card for $200, and it's almost 3 times faster than my old 9600xt =D
Isn't AtiTool "scan for artifacts" enough to know if the extra pipes and vertex are working right? As far as I know AtiToll scan for artifacts option works for nVidia too.
