Help me PLEASE. I let windows 10 update and restart and now there's a loop in the compatibility assistant starting that Riva Tuner is not comparable with this version of Windows. I just need to know the installation location so I can start with a command prompt and Nuke it. Please help me.

    Safe mode?

    C:\Program Files (x86)\MSI Afterburner
    C:\Program Files (x86)\RivaTuner Statistics Server

Seems you're running a older version though, unless Microsoft changed something recently and you actually have to use the the RTSS 7.0.0 beta now and Afterburner 4.4.0 beta because their compatibility assistant is being a pain.
(Just removing or disabling the autostart setting should work.)

    EDIT:

That's the latest 7.0.0 beta for RTSS.

    And Afterburner 4.4.0 beta.

It's still in development and considered beta but it should be compatible with almost all Windows 10 versions, almost because the RS3 insider builds currently (Still?) have a bug in them with a separate 4.4.0b16 build offering a workaround for the issue until MS actually fixes the thing, which they probably should do soon because it seems the last build is getting close to RTM status now so if it's still a issue that could be problematic for not just Afterburner but other software too.

EDIT: Actually while speaking of the compatibility assistant anyone else seeing compattelrunner.exe going for a while after shutting down Afterburner? Microsoft must really like the software ha ha.
(It's overall pretty harmless though, HDD activity spikes for a few seconds and then it's over.)

EDIT: Oh and I almost forgot about it but the Guru3D front page download archive also has a public version of RivaTuner 7.0.0 which is a bit older without being completely bleeding edge or how you say, should also be compatible.
(Also the included release notes and the beta topic on these forums should be helpful for reading up on the new changes for both Afterburner 4.4.0 and Rivatuner 7.0.0 too since it's quite a update with all sorts of new features.)

Looks like the Redstone 3 compatibility issues have been resolved in the latest build. :)
(And probably as a result also the pre-RS4 build that came out a day later as the "skip ahead" option Microsoft added.)

Bit of a quick post, bit of a mess too but hopefully this solves it in whatever way you prefer whether it's a full uninstall or a update of the software, from your post (And the one in the Rivatuner section of these forums.) you sounded pretty fed up about whatever the OS is doing, I would think you could just press "OK" and the compatibility assistant would just close and the affected software wouldn't be loaded but I haven't run into issues with it myself so I don't know how it actually handles things.

But I know Microsoft has a database of software they don't allow to be installed on Windows 8 and newer, guess some older versions of Afterburner and/or Rivatuner got hit by this for one of the Windows 10 updates thus why there's been a few posts about this now. :)
