Is that with stock voltages, I am just asking because a user over at OCUK managed to get his Nitro + 1400 mhz with stock voltages and 1450 i believe with voltage tweaks..

 

I think for AMD fanboys it is clear that overclocking will always be a dream for AMD.

Never ever hype about AMD OC or stupid BS hype of Wccf. Never post it here.

1.3v might get those 1400+ but then again the amount of power the gpu would use. Uhhh. I ordered nitro+ for my partner

Going by those results then this third-party 480 would with the 16.7.3 drivers actually perform above a Fury? Not bad if the changelog is accurate with the performance gains in that game.
(EDIT: Well it generally never is I suppose, it's always "up to" I believe. )

A gain of ~6 FPS at 1080, 4 FPS at 1440 and 2 FPS at 2160 would make it possibly squeeze just between the Fury's performance levels.
(Granted it's only for a single game and it's taken AMD a while to optimize their drivers for said game but it's a nice first glimpse of what more mature drivers could potentially do for this GPU model.)
(And what Vega might be capable off as a more high-end 14nm model...we'll see when it's actually available though. )

 

So... Does this card use a reference pcb with default power delivery as the reference cards ?

No it does not , it uses an 8 Pin power connector plus superior 6+1 multi-phases where each phase supplies 25W instead of 22.5W found in other boards.

The review is very well made and very thorough. I however am a little worried about the use of DOOM? I am a little afraid that it in fact will cost you some clicks as this stuff, with its demonic themes, doesn't sit well with a lot of religious people. So I'd strongly suggest that you will keep this comment in mind for your next reviews.

 

why? occultism is a religion. you don't want to discriminate them, do you?

 

In Doom, using Vulkan, you should have set Anti-aliasing to "TSAA8X" or "Off" in order to enable asynchronous compute, otherwise you get lower results than are possible with AMD cards.

Very impressed with this card and the silent cooling.

 

Yeah, I noticed that.

Makes it a pain for him though as all the OGL results are with SMAA.

 

What a load of crap, I assume your just complaining because you don't like the results rather than any other reason. After all you don't seem to have any issue with the fact the card being reviewed is a RX 480 RED DEVIL edition!

 

If you're offended by DOOM then you don't belong here..
