I am glad it was one big enough to stick back easy and not one of those little bastards. I think you need a microscope for those. Yeah, it's worth the investment. I don't even care about the passive cooling that it bring anymore. I just want to avoid touching that board again.
Haha - yeh, I've ordered one anyway Purely for this reason... If one of mine came off, I don't know anyone with the tools to fix it!
Great cards under h2o, love to see the bigger chip indeed benefit from better cooling Makes me want to have on twice as much as before
Yes, great under water... when you don't have any leakages... like me Something went bad on the cpu pump, it splashed my mobo, sound card, gpu... pretty much dead in the water now :bang: I can't use the predator anymore, cpu pump still leaks. I don't know if this is related to the issue they had with the previous revision for these pumps. Mobo is stuck with code 00, yeah, the mystery code. Bought a replacement mobo/cpu, same type, need to check what is working and what not. I will see what EK can do. Now I have to mount the stock cooler on the Titan to verify if it went to a better place as well . I will order another Titan if this is one is dead, but I will have to reconsider this whole water thing. The risk of possibly loosing another Titan is just to high.
:uhoh: :uhoh: :uhoh: :uhoh: Really sorry to hear this Guessing it was a rev 1.1? (and brand new?) Making me worried about mine now!!! When you say CPU pump - do you mean the included cpu block or? (incidentally, I made a major screw up with my cpu overclock, voltages went a bit wrong and i was pumping 1.38V into it! whoops) I did used to watercool my 6990 in my old build, using a custom loop. Only, that leaked as well randomly one day - RIP 6990. Which is why I did use watercooling since (until now!)
That sucks man, it's just one of the reason (the other being the cost) why I don't go full out watercooling and stick with AIOs. Not that those would be 100% safe either, but so far, I didn't have any sort of leaks. I just hope EK will somehow compensate you if it's a faulty product of theirs...
Hi there That's very sad and this really its unfortunate what happened to you If its leaks where is CPU then I would suspect O ring, but i'm sure this has been resolved through their other revisions like per this notice/recall on their 1.1 https://www.ekwb.com/news/important...xlc-predator-240-and-360-r1-0-product-recall/ Regarding what EK should do,I would try post this on Overclock.net as they have there representative and they should honour what has happen Something like this shouldn't happen at all as those kits are CLC or AIO In my case,my H100i v2 dying slowly, few days back my temps went to 103.5C in BIOS and one bash hand where are radiator hoses/tubes and temps drops to lower temps, looks like I've got there blockage or air lock and this is causing those issue But I've decided, right now I'm using Cryorig R1 Universal and temps are now lot lower and PC is much much quieter too,no more AIO or CLC and if I would go again with CLC not sure, but I will go probably with EK Predator In yours case looks like you've got bad unit and bad luck Thanks,Jura
Oh crap... damn! Sorry to hear dude! Well the question is, if water cooling is the problem, or if you just happened to get a pump, a rather slim chance I guess. Still, if your mainboard, CPU and RAM and possibly a Titan are gone, that's capital
I got a new mobo/cpu, same type, cpu is dead, can't tell if if the mobo is good or bad because I don't feel like installing my new cpu on it. Titan is gone, I removed the water block and there was water there also. I installed the stock cooler and that is the only thing working. When this whole thing happened the radiator was hot as hell so the heat made the pump go boom. I don't know if the fans stopped working properly or there something else. Anyway, Titan 2 is on the way and this time I'll stick with the stock cooler. I don't feel like risking it with the water again. RAM and sound card are ok.
Hi there Did you contact EK regarding this ? I know few companies will cover just fraction such as Corsair they cover up to $150 I think,Cryoirig will cover whole amount If radiator has been hot then looks like you've got air lock or somewhere there has been some sort of blockage same as on mine H100i as I posted above and this has caused over heating and pump failure which shouldn't happen like on mine, but mine cost 2 times less like EK Predator Regarding the Titan 2 I would speak with EK first and from this I would go there Good luck there Hope this helps Thanks,Jura
I have opened a case with EK support. I will see on Monday what they want to do next. I have already ordered another Titan. I can't standby and hope that EK will compensate me, who knows how long this will take. I need a GPU.
Geez! I have been following your mishappening. That's nothing short of horror man. Had a similar 5820k/mobo/psu situtation but with lightning instead of water. I know the feeling somewhat. It's very unfortunate. I hope all turns for the better in the end.
Flashy meets Splashy It will be fine when my new Titan arrives, after all these are all parts, you just have to replace them. The only one suffering is your wallet
Oh man, still lots of money gone... sorry for your loss! But I can relate, every time my system starts I am worried it might suddenly leak, so far I was lucky I guess hehe
The gpu,cpu and mobo set me back 2000 US $ plus 560$ for all the EKWB stuff. Now that I have ordered another Titan that's another 1447$. This has not been a fun experience
That Cryorig R1 Universal looks really easy to install and it does not interfere with the RAM. If my H110GT ever breaks down I will get one of these. As for the Predator, it does a good job, just make sure you have spare cash, just in case.
Hi there I wouldn't expect something like this would happen to you or anyone there,I know some people have issue with pump as pump started to leak, but in yours case this looks like blocked CPU block or O ring Regarding R1,this cooler have only one issue,I can't have all 8 RAM populated with this cooler, yes I can but I need to have normal RAM without heat spreaders which is bit pain, cooler is still fitted on E5-2683v3 and I will be fitting this cooler on my i7-5820k later this week, just I will be new TY-143 fans And regarding Corsair, you have good warranty on them,I think 5 years is warranty and if it breaks I would get air cooler it will runs cool as CLC I waited on Cryorig Z1 to be released or go route of the again their CLC Cryorig A80 which performing pretty much as Corsair I will be going with EK Predator too, hope so with bit more luck Thanks,Jura
Dude, I'd have the cash too, but I'd simply eat my pants if that would happen to me but as long as you're cool with it, part of the excitement of our enthusiast hobby I guess
