Yeah, the crap was a paper launch.

When it takes a month to get new stock in it tells me that

    1. The stores only got 10 - 20 or so cards
    2. the AIB companies are only building to demand which means there will always be a limited supply from the AIB companies.

They knew they were not going to make many sales so they lowered the amount they created to the point that it looks like they sold plenty. It's a good marketing tactic but we all know that it was a limited supply and not a real release. They needed to test the waters somehow without costing them a lot of money.

Well done Nvidia you made it look like you sold thousands of cards but when your quarterly revenue comes out it will look as bad as AMD. :D "Golf Clap"

People would buy a 4090 to play Spiderman at 1080?

Il be honest i cant tell the difference between 144 and 72 fps/hz so during the summer i just frame capped to 72fps, which dropped the power draw and heat output of my 6900xt but a significant amount.

Basically paper launch with not many cards available, yet still not sold out across UK. Noticed all big retailers aggressively promoting it's launch and performance, but overall appears consumers largely uninterested in it.

Really, still not sold out in UK ? Must be cause so many in the UK are hit on their pocket atm + these cards being 50% more expensive in europe than the 3090 was.

They were sold out in denmark within 5 min, litereally.

In Portugal there seems to be a good stock of 4090s.

There are at least 3 stores that i know that have a few cards in stock.

Personally i find this curious, because a small an poor country like mine shouldn`t have so many cards this expensive in stock...

Overall, the GPU seems great, however I have 3 issues with it:

    1. Price. There is no secret that going from a 700 dollar 1080 Ti to a 1600 dollar 4090 is quite ludicrous. I will definitely wait for lower end cards and AMD.
I will probably wait till a GPU with this performance is at around 900 dollars.

    2. Power draw..? Derb8uer found out this GPU is almost identical in performance at 75%+ power draw. nVidia seems to be killing overclocking for its products.
That is a sign of more control that nVidia wants. That has never been a good thing in the past.
(Imagine this GPU running at 75% power draw, a normal sized cooler and 15% cheaper).

    3. Waiting with the other 4000 GPUs to sell this and 3000 series GPUs.

Some people can't tell the difference. Just like some can't tell the difference between DSD64 and 320kbps MP3. We're all precious unique snowflakes.
