Have mine with a 3950, 32gb 3600@16 and a 3090 all loop cooled chipset fan never goes above 59 deg C and is set to activate at 68 deg C by the time it gets there the bottom case/Rad fans are running at maximum anyway so it keeps everything cool in fact at full load it gets cooler due to the extra air being moved in the case as the Fans ramp up with coolant Temp

Well its been a crappy start to the year.....my week off work gets moved....then my Monday off gets moved to Wednesday....but on the upside i picked up a ryzen 5800x from scan tonight to go in my X570 Unify which should arrive just in time for my week off work.

Found something interesting in the manual for the x570 Unify..... apparently there is no pci-e 4 with a gen2 ryzen installed, unless someone can confirm other wise.

Gen 2 ryzen is the 2000 series, indeed there is no PCIE 4.
Zen 2 Ryzen is the 3000 (Gen 3)

Altthough Zen+ is just an evolution of Zen 1, its still a Generation increment (like how Intel has incremented Skylake 100 times)

Hi, dont know where you got your info but both 8 pin sockets are for the cpu....page 29 of the manual.....left socket for cpu pwr1 and the right for cpu pwr2.....exactly the same as my Asus prime x570pro im using until my 5800x arrives.

I thought the 2k were gen 1+, i know 3k are gen 2 but the manual is not exactly clear

    y 2x PCIe 4.0/ 3.0 x16 slots (PCI_E1, PCI_E3) ƒ 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen™ support PCIe 4.0 x16/x0, x8/x8 modes ƒ 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen™ support PCIe 3.0 x16/x0, x8/x8 modes ƒ Ryzen™ with Radeon™ Vega Graphics and 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen™ with Radeon™ Graphics support PCIe 3.0 x8 mode* y 1x PCIe 4.0/ 3.0 x16 slot (PCI_E5, supports x4 mode) y 2x PCIe 4.0/ 3.0 x1 slots**

    Page 36 of the manual says m.2 slots 1 2 and 3 are pci-4x4 for gen3 and pci-3x4 for gen2.

Feels like theyve taken a b550 board manual and stuck a x570 badge on it

If you use a gen 4 capable CPU so Ryzen 3k on then they are Gen 4 any others they will be Gen 3, you can either force the gen in bios or leave it at auto

Only 4 Sata? I couldn't believe it when I read it. Someone at MSI made a huge mistake. In this price segment I expect to get 8 Sata, but at a minimum 6.
This definitely is a board to skip.

They traded 2 sata ports for a 4x m.2 slot.

For me it is the better option as i only use 2 ssd`s and plan on getting a 3rd nmve, tempted to raid 2x Corsair MP600 2tb on the x570 unify chipset or try and find a pci-e 4 4x 2nd gen drive at a good price and run on the cpu.

Fitted my Unify board and Ryzen 5800x this morning, Well now i have less rgb bling in my case, the wireless is working very well at 66mbps down/18mbps up and ping of around 11ms compared to 35/18/14 that i was getting through tplink powerline adaptors, i have an extra m.2 to fill...... and it looks great....that's the good news, over 3 timespy runs i got a plus 600pts, a minus 600pts and a no improvement score, gaming......the division 2 and Death stranding with the current bios(7C35vA7 Updated AMD AGESA ComboAm4v2PI 1.1.0.0 Patch C) i see very little improvement, with my Corsair h115i platinum ive gone from lows 40c`s on the 3800x to 30c idle on the 5800x which i do like...but loaded temps are hitting low 80s with Msi`s balanced profile compared to low 70s on the 3800x Asus prime x570 default.

Apart from needed new black cabling bling to get Im pretty happy although i must admit i was expecting a bit more performance out of the box....hopefully Amd/Msi will release a bit more with future bios updates.

Although its a great motherboard the m.2 cooling solution is a lot less than perfect, i have my Corsair MP600 2tb(boot+games) drive in the second m.2 slot which happens to be right behind my gpu and which is also home to my division2 install, today after an hours play my drive topped out at 68c, the strange thing is my 1tb mp600 is in the bottom slot and only has some of my steam games on....that was in the low 60`s at the same time, buth drives using the frozr cooling, also in the 9 years of running my Corsair hx1000i psu ive never seen the fans need to kick in as its never gone above 40c....well today it ran at 47c, currently running my system with both panels off to keeps temps in check, admittedly i was testing out dragon center in extreme mode vs balanced but performance took a massive hit.....as in the division 2 was unplayable.....2fps unplayable....yes you read that right....2, i am wondering if the latest beta driver is not so optimised for 5k chips.

Dragon centre is supposed to the worst piece of junk you will find lots of semi suicidal folks on forums after installing it, it works so much better without, even the Bios tune options I have found a bit weird, but I do have a 3950 not a 5k chip, have found the best performance enable xmp2 forget the auto tune games thing option in Bios it just runs the CPU at boost all the time and use PBO and Auto everything else, mine boosts to 4.8 max and maintains 4.3 on all cores like that under load.
I set the Frozer fan to balanced and it never activates past boot up but I do have a bottom rad firing air over the board.
NVMEs 1 TB Sabrent rkt pcie4 runs between 45 and 55 2 TB PNY Pcie 3 runs at 40-50 500gb Samsung 1TB samsung Evo pcie 3 runs at 34 but its right next to the rad so gets a good flow of air.
Am going to move my Water cooled 3090 to a vertical position soon so I expect the Drive temps to improve as the GPU does block the flow a bit just need to get some 90deg swivels first.

For me xmp1 and 2 give the same settings, but there is an option called "try this" and i now have my Gskil 3600 cl 15 15 15 36 runnnig at 3600 cl14 16 16 36 and there is a noticeable difference in gaming as far as smootthness is concerned.

Dragon center functions but its far from perfect, it has a tendency to switch fan profiles, about 1 in 3 boot ups result in a rather noisy system.....corsair hd rgb 140mm fans are not quiet at 1250 rpm, also booting now and again gives a change in the user scenario, I run the silent profile which gives me around 32-35c on my R7 5800x at idle and enough performance for gaming at 62c, but occasionally i get given extreme profile at boot which gives mid 70c at idle and the same performance gaming with 80c+

i've been a long time MSI fanboy but their x570/B550 offerings are weak. had to bite the bullet and go to a ROG Strix x570i for my current gaming rig.
the Asus software is much better and less intrusive. fan profiles rock solid. necessary for anyone running more than three fans. i like having my (two separate) set of rad fans lower than my case fans (radiator is more direct sound in my system) at all settings.
