the far cry 5 score seem quite low to me. I do 93-94 fps at 1440p with a slightly overclocked evga 1080 gtx

if one of my gpu's die and there are no 1080ti's left, this is the gpu i'd buy if there was no Navi on the horizon (January announce, spring availability).

Since Nvidia spoiled us with massive performance gains for x70 cards in the past, I will settle for no less than equivalent perf/price gains in the future. Which means 2070s do not cut it and a skip to 7nm is the more likely option. Had never skipped an Nv gen since fx series, but now upgrading every other gen seems more sensible. Think can appreciate upgrades more when they are substantial, even if less frequent. Thanks Nvidia for knocking some sense back into me.

You can buy used 1080Ti for as low as 400 Eur with 2 years of warranty left on them.

I see Strix RTX 2070 OC for 720 Eur in my local store. That's insane. This is almost as much as what I paid for my Strix 1080 Ti OC almost 2 years ago.

1080ti was costing $500 just few weeks ago, now its going $700+, in some cases even over $1100.

I think 1080ti supplies are very low. Most have been bought up.

First driver release for the 1070 showed about the same performance difference from the 1080 ti to the 2070, hit or miss in some titles on both.

So it is, on average, ~10% faster than my ancient 1080, if my 1080 ran at stock 1080 speeds.
    Hmm.
