We should expect game dev to release a new PC patch and advertising it as performance "optimization": downgrading the already mediocre graphics via settings tricks to reach 60 fps on almost all GPUs.

From Hilbert's review: "In all fairness, this is an Nvidia optimized title much like AMD has a lot of AMD optimized ones."

I wish everyone who bought this unfinished game would ask for a refund. Bad console porting like we see here, downgraded graphics in other ports so the console gamers won't feel left out. (Oh Hello Ubisoft) etc etc. If this continues pc gaming will die.

No pc gamer should have to put up with this sh*t. Make a statement.

M3 is not an Nvidia title like GOW4. It might work best on Nvidia, but, for such a title, that's not saying much.

    To see Nvidia games look at this list;

    http://www.geforce.co.uk/games-applications/pc-games

By my reckoning, M3 is a vendor agnostic title.

    Tinfoil much? :)

@Xuanzang I get that with all the screw-ups recently on PC things look a bit gloomy, but let's be serious. PC gaming is not going to die. It's a billion dollar industry and the big players will not let it go just like that.

Some people should not be porting games.

Or maybe they should be given proper time to do so. Apparently 2k wanted a sprawling game like GTA V, completed in the same timeframe, using a studio doing this for the first time, which had less than 1/3 the amount of people that Rockstar has. Yeah...

I am really shocked by the performance of games released as of late, it almost like Dev dont give damn about optimizing things for pc..

Make me want to wait till 11xx series before geting new card, but dev continue to push port of such quality it wont matter either.

    @ 1080p a 970 scores 32 fps
    @ 1080p a 980 scores 35 fps

That's so bad i could never buy this game while in this condition.

That's the difference between a 300 pound gfx card and a 600 pound gfx card.

So basically you paid an extra 300 quid for just 3 fps. Laughable, especially when you look at GTA V.

I'm sorry but surely a 980 should still be able to get 60 fps in any game @ 1080p.

Future optimization hopefully gets it closer to that number but prolly some other better game will of come out by then and i'll pass on this one.

I see now why they initially released at a locked 30 fps. Poor show.

He atlest they didnt release broke game like WB did with last batman for pc... was a game of many firsts. All I know is the "quality" ports we getting on PC need to stop.

Seriously if you was boss @ Nvidia and saw my post you'd be scared ****less because no one is gonna buy top end cards for so little return if this ends up being the norm.

It's hard to get excited over any game these days when you know something like this is almost guaranteed to happen.

How fast was the ram used in the tests? 1600mhz can bottleneck games like this. For example, in Fallout 4 going from 1600mhz to 2400mhz gave 12 more fps. NOTE: I know ram is not the issue with the game, I am just curious what speed Hilbert used in his benchmarks.

Another crappy port and not surprised in the least. So long as people keep falling for hype and keep pre-ordering or buying day of, this will continue to happen.

Even with the threat of refunding the game through steam, as of yesterday night there were 35k people playing this game on PC.. I wouldn't play this broken ass mess if they paid me.. I value my time too much for that.

Hilbert what gives you the idea that Mafia 3 is a Nivdia optimized game?

Just because it runs better on Nvidia hardware? Nvidia has nothing to do with Mafia 3
