Finally, B550 Chipset based motherboards are here. We start off with a very premium B550 Aorus Master, loaded with 2.5 GigE Ethernet, AX WIFI6 and three M2 NVMe slots we wonder if this awesome motherb... Review: Gigabyte B550 Aorus Master
Thank you for the review, the Gigabyte is doing a great job! I see the undocumented Thunderbolt header is there at the right side of the SATA ports. I do not know why Gigabyte keep it undocumented... And in the B550 VISION D, the Thunderbolt ports they just call it "TYPE-C"
Great motherboard... but the price... 348,95 Euro it's a bit overpriced. For that you can get a kick ass X570.
Yeah it is a great motherboard however I don't like the way they layout the PCI-E slots. They have it if you don't use a PCI-E Gen4 GPU you can get penalized if you use 1 m.2 slot. The only really good usage I can see out of this board is a media server or a fast storage server for starters.
Hilbert, I would love to see DPC latency results on your motherboard reviews. This is extrememly useful for people that use their rigs for both gaming and things like audio production. Sometimes the DPC latency can also effect games, though less noticeably in most.
to do dpc latency Hilbert will have to double the work done because it'll require testing on graphics parts of all 3 vendors, various addin boards, usb devices and multiple cpu's.
Ah, no. I'm talking only about the motherboards on board stuff latency. Something as simple as LatencyMon run for half an hour on it.
and thats not how you get legitimate dpc latency measurements..... a system with nothing plugged in is meaningless for idle latency.
But... it does show if there are driver or hardware issues within the mobo itself that will make it unsuitable for various types of applications. A number of gigabyte mobos from a few years ago had issues that made them unsuitable, even without anything plugged in.
