Not this much I haven't. And talking about nonsensical, you compare launch of a new series (9xx to 1xxx) to a new card from the same series, ie. 2070 to 2070S. La La Land...

Yes, as a point that the new cards in the same series could have easily been labeled the 3000 series.

It doesn't matter if it's in the same series or new series, it matters that it's newly released products. It's not like they released a product and then a week later stated "Oh, nevermind, here's a better product for the same price!", it's been 9 months since the original release of the 20 series happened, 6 months since the 2060 was released.

Again, nothing new here, this happened.

Want to talk about same series as thought that even matters?

1080 to 1080 ti, same thing, you could have bought a 1080 2 months before the 1080 ti was released. Some people probably did. The founders editions of both these cards were $699, the founders editions are what were specifically talked about.

Nothing new has happened here that hasn't happened before, for the last 20 years.

Well i got a standard 2060 a few weeks ago and i don't regret it one bit.Think of it like this.Should you get a standard 2060 with very good cooling and low thermals for around 360 euros OR get an entry level Super 2060 with the worst cooling system and thermals? Now, if you're thinking about the extra 2 GB's then it's up to you ppl.All i know is that 6 and 8 GB cards will go down pretty much together like 2 and 3 GB's cards did.The problem with Nvidia was always the lack of 8 GB's cards, for the price range of 230-350 euros.Look at AMD.Pretty much any mainstream card they have is 8 GB's and Nvidia got stuck with 6 GB's.I won't count some refresh card like the Super 2060 to be the first card, that signals the beginning of 8 GB's cards for mainstream level. After all that card alone doesn't have that "mainstream" price to justify it.

I wonder if AMD can afford to take a risk and adjust pricing a little for this Sunday. Would be interesting. Might be nice to pay back Nvidia and s#£t on their parade too. Then again, we do have the rest of the stack inbound later. That will be interesting too.

Looks good. Maybe not quite enough to sway me yet. However, the list of RTX games is starting to look like a "who's-who" in the gaming industry. Surely this year's Fifa will support RTX?

I have no doubt that RTX is here to stay and a year from now it'll only have wider support. Will Nvidia get the "balance" right between cuda cores and tensor cores for ampere? Hmm...

Happens all the time. GTX 480/470, the hot and loud 'Thermi'. 6 months later > GTX 580/570, better, cooler cards. And again in very similiar circumstances. AMD were just about to launch the 6970/6950 and Nvidia blind-sided them with the 580/570, a week before AMDs launch.

Before that, it was AMD embarassing Nvidia, when Nvidia proudly released the GTX280/260 for $650/450. AMD quickly followed with the better value 4870/4850 cards. Nvidia had to resort to major price cuts as a result, only a month later with major loss of face :D.

The 2060S is a pretty good deal especially since you also get two free games, Control and Wolfenstein: Young Blood which are a $90 value. Essentially making the 2060S only $310.

Let's be honest, those embarrassments are few and far between.

    they were $175-$225 cards and a 570 never out did a 480...
here we are talking 2060S vs 2070 for$100/$200 less! "or more"

To Hilbert, as always, nice review. Is it possible after the game benchmarks in future we could see a performance summary of all the games tested. It might help readers get a better overview of the overall performance (if its not too much trouble). Thanks!

Not a second review, just an overall percentage summary of the games benched. If there are inconsistencies or ups and downs in FPS between games, a percentage summary can help get a better understanding of cards overall performance.
