Paper launch sucks but at least you know what you are waiting for?
Why rush a purchase when a better cards get released 2-3 months down the line?

It really should have, I also agree that if they don't get it out until June they've screwed up. I very much wanted to buy one coming up from my 780 but I couldn't and I had to move my 780 while it still had value. I'm pretty annoyed with my 980 though, I can't manage to get a 10%+ OC stable and I don't see a point going for less :(. IF AMD does get the 390X out by June and the tubing is long enough or there's an air variant I'll likely still go for it but I wish they would get it out sooner than later :nerd:.

    Amazing performance.

Although some games still can stress TITAN X even @1080p + MSAAx4 :)

I wonder how many people actually got the original Titan because it had FP64...

This is obviously for the more affluent PC enthusiast. I like Hilbert's car comparison.
Even if they sell half of the cards they could have sold if it was $500, they make up for that fact being double the price. The market for making the majority of their money aint even the $500 range, more like the $200 dollar range. With that in mind, this is more of a statement then it is a product. Flagship cards have traditionally been that way.

What a great review! Titan X is a monster single gpu. I give them that. Can't wait for a more consumer friendly version - 980 Ti. :D

Even if 980 Ti may come out with max of 6 GB, DX12 would allow SLI to remap to 12GB so that will help in 4k + resolutions or high res textures usage engines later.

Hilbert - when you eventually do a SLI Titan X or SLI 980 Ti review, and 390x CFX review, can you also include down sampling modes and/or 8xAA or greater?

This extra parameter would be an awesome benchmark for bandwidth and vram, and for guys running less than 4K can ultra max out with 8x or greater hardware AA.

I love the 5K HD resolution modes and any DS mode on top of 4K can even give us an academic glimpse into 5-8K resolution.

Just looking ahead a little longer mainly for all of us waiting to upgrade to 4K/5K or even 8K monitors. It will require SLI/CFX or Triple cards or better then so this test can give a very rough gauge to plan for such an upgrade.

Pretty hot thing, by HOT i mean both. Just one downside, i think i'll be able to get equivalent performance at 0.6 the price. Thank you for attention.

Probably not much, but the point is it was "worthy" of that price, because it had it. This TitanX is just because they can, that extra vram buffer doesn't justify its price, no way.

But I don't care about it really, just stating the obvious why its imho a ripoff. Otherwise GM200 is a interesting chip:nerd:

Great card. Hey its the high end. OC and SLI and that's state of the art.
Not everyone can buy Ferrari either.

i don't see 4k gaming being so memory demanding, i mean memory amount. Otherwise how can anyone explain how R9 cards are handling it so well.

don't forget how vram is used in sli and cf. Vram of gpu 1 mirrors vram of 0 so if have 2x 4gb you're only taking advantage of 4gb. Anyway i prefer fast ram than hughe amounts of it.

    Btw sorry my bad english

Hilbert would be nice to see memory usage of game benchs since is so important issue these days.
