You're comparing apples and oranges. A fair comparison would be against the first gen Titan.

does .8 points really make a difference? :p

Now look at the numbers between the first gen titan and the titan x. Now that's something to be upset about.

Well yeah normal Titan DP is a class of its own in this scenario, I was just saying its so slow even 580gtx can beat it :D

I will also pass for sure, even non Titan by the looks of it.. Was expecting more to be honest, at least GF110 to GK110 jump in gaming scenario.

    EDIT:
Another interesting review, same thing as by techpowerup 1440p isn't playable at max settings, 1080p only by the looks of it.

now AMD engineers are back to the drawing board and tweaking their 390x cards to be even more IMPRESSIVE!

they probably went Oh F!@# after seeing the power consumption.

The point is there, even if its a bit off track by 0.5 nanoseconds.

Not Titan name or price worthy, Titan name was exactly because of FP64, now its just because of extra useless vram

Ah well, they know how to ripoff people..

If I had the money, and if nVidia won't void this, I'd put an aftermarket cooler in this bad boy. Waiting for 980 Ti!

Can't see them overclocking very well if they run that hot, and Nvidia are not allowing custom coolers, just refs.

NV is very confused because GTX Titan X isn't fast double precision and it's crap! :thumbdown :thumbdown

My GTX 780 Ti Classified (I have paid only 400€) is much better ratio price/performance than Titan X! :D

I was very disappointed with the performance of the TX for the "street" price ...good grief, if the rumors are true and AMD will be shipping 8GBs of HBM...(that's a great, big "if" of course)...then this Titan will become a circus midget on the day the 390X goes up for sale...;) I'd love to see AMD come out with another R300-like quantum leap over nVidia like happened in 2002...that was a lot of fun watching nVidia red-faced and scrambling (trying to justify no-FSAA-to-amazingly-crummy-FSAA, etc., blaming everything from D3d to the FABS the company was using for being so dramatically upstaged by AMD at the time)...it'd be great to see something like that again...we had a lot of fun from 2002 for about three years there...;)

I noticed the etailer advertising the Titan X with this review for the low, low price of only $1398...! I'm thinking nVidia has gotten wind of something phenomenal coming out of AMD and it's driven them to push this out as quickly as possible (so that maybe they'll sell a handful before the 390x hits the market.) IMO, anyone who leaps before he looks and doesn't wait for the 390X to launch to get some kind of comparison is K-razeee...:D

The performance over the 980 and the temps are kinda disappointing given the price. Thanks for the review.

The titan x was going to be $1000 usd, no doubt about that. People being disappointed in the price need to look at the price of the Titan and Titan Black. With no competition from amd thats a given, even if there was competition it would still be priced the same.

But Titan and Titan Black or even TitanZ were so pricy because of full FP64 double precision support, can't really say that for this TitanX.

Now they're just milking Titan name for the sake of it so they can price it absurdly.
