yea lol was really enjoying the article and thinking to myself I want this till I saw that price tag after taxes here that'll be around $400 cad. I have much better things to put that money into like a RTX 3070 or whatever AMD brings. Thanks for the review Hilbert.

When peripherals are now as much as CPU's, GPU's, etc, you know they lost the plot. It's become beyond rediculous.

Had my K70 LUX RGB for a few months now and its still all i need especially after fitting a key dampening kit which takes the ping out of the key strokes, although the k100 rgb does look nice.....i just dont need it and given the price....thats half a new Ryzen 5800x

    I hope they make a low-profile version.

Currently enjoying my K70 RGB MK.2 Low Profile Rapidfire MX-Speed.

I remember when this line of boards first came out at around $100. I thought I was crazy for buying one. Over $200 is just a real head-scratcher for a keyboard honestly.

What a ridiculous price. They know they’ll get a few suckers to buy it at that price point, then they’ll reduce the price and sell it at 50% off and it will be such a deal people will just have to buy it because they fall for these type of shady business practices. “I’d never spend $200 on a keyboard!”, “Well it’s originally $400 so I can’t pass up such a offer!?”.... this is basically every pc peripheral on the market.

They should focus more on making iCUE not a total piece of crap. I've seriously never more problems with software than I do with iCUE. The interface is trash. It constantly hangs/crashes. It's crashed when updating firmware literally bricking one of my keyboards. They've somehow gone backwards in functionality, especially when it comes to the profiles stuff. It started off really bad, got slightly more stable and now it's somehow worse. I love keyboard I hate the software.

Also corsair is getting super sloppy with it's marketing material:

Wtf is this picture. The knob looks like it's Microsoft Painted onto the picture.

iCue has been fine with me using 3 devices. I don't mess around with it too much now but it hasn't caused me any issues.

Paying $230 for a keyboard is frankly absurd. But remember ‘Corsair Gaming’ as it is called now is nevertheless a billion-dollar company. Just before going public a few months ago, Andy Paul (CEO) said 2.8 billion gamers worldwide spent more than $148 billion on game peripherals in 2019. Mr. Paul now being in the 'public eye' makes over $1.2 million a year in executive compensation and further 400,000 shares of exercisable stock-based compensation purchasable at $1,10 per share. All neatly outlined in their Form S-1 IPO statement. His personal net-worth immediately following the IPO is way out of sight and over $100 million to be sure. So with this he really does not need the money. While at the same time Corsair has been overpricing the gaming industry at large. They call it “High Performance Gaming.” But what do I know…I am just the man on the street still clunking away on a 1985 Model-M mechanical keyboard from IBM and which simply will not die. Physical durability prevailing.

The good thing about this keyboard is, once it is set up, you need never run iCue again, it has 200 profiles to store all your configs.
I'm thinking of getting one for my Dad for Xmas to go with a new PC we're making for him (he's paying for) to process his camcorder vids going back 20+ years to H264! So family can watch them on a Blu Ray player and because the videos could be lost, the tapes are degrading.

The only feature of the keyboard I reckon will be handy for him will be the forward/reverse wind of video with the wheel, but it looks nice, has that plush feel and he will know we care.
It might be an idea to have a video processing profile with different colour keys to highlight those he will need to use.
Also with covid, the keyboard can be wiped with isopropyl alcohol without damage (due to PBS plastic) to be sure the keys are clean after we finish setting it up and training him.

I disabled iCUE from starting up with Windows and set all Corsair services to manual, but might as well just uninstall it since it doesn't manage to load the hardware profiles I stored on my keyboard, so if I want to change anything in them I have to rebuild them from scratch.

that keycaps profile does not look very enticing to me.
I mean how much inviting is something shaped like this: (disregard the color)

any1 coming from those Logitech LCD keyboards will think he can't live without the LCD. they're mostly wrong :)

I searched high and low trying to find a good image showing K100 caps profile... found it, just barelly

I wish someone except Corsair would make a keyboard with display, I still love my Logitech G510.

And, Corsair stuff wont ever make it into my home.
