Review: Auzentech X-Meridian 7.1 2G

Just bought this card, hooked it up was pretty simple Tested on :

z5500 - sub

bose - 201 fronts

bose - tiny cube speakers center and rears

Set flex bass crossover to 97 hz - optimal for me because of the full range 201's

sound quality- unbelievable, highs, mids, lows very good across the board. More spacial feel than other cards, fills the room

features - huge amount of c-media features, including flexbass.

value- cost less than others in this quality range.

overall- best card I've heard.

Don't worry, after listening to this card, the quality is so good, there will be heaps of reviews

would you go with the g2 or ASUS Xonar D2 7.1?
I need an optical and analog 5.1 (z-5500 digitals), a line in for my XM radio, and headphone jack for my headphones (im getting the AKGs k701s so ill have to upgrade the amps)
I still use XP and i do ALOT of gaming and ALOT of music

I'd love to know how it stacks up against the Titanium HD,Xonar st,stx,xense. I read the card wasn't meant for gaming but mostly music and movies.I'm sure it would sound fine for games tho. I still think the Razer Barracuda ac-1 is underrated..

 

They do, there are many cards out that can use drive bays.

 

I feel like creative is the only one that still does but they dont seem to stack up as well against asus or auzentech. I know the the forte can use this http://www.auzentech.com/site/products/xfi_iodrive.php but it wont work with the asus or x-meridian g2

 

Still fantastic for gaming too

 

nah the Razer barracuda AC1 was over rated, I had one as well as the Hp1 headphones that went with it. It was the worst two things I ever bought. I wish I got the orginal merdian at the time.

But yea even if cards doesnt have EAX 5 or real eax5 they still great for gaming as ragdoll mentions. it just most people think the card must support this or that to be used for gaming.

 

I still think the Razer card is great..GenClaymore,what don't you like about it? I have the matching headphones also,they aren't very good.. After I opened up my world recently to hi fi headphones,any gaming headsets sound like crap. I love my DT770 pro 80's..Just bliss.. I have the xfi HD and the razer is not blown away by it.. I notice subtle differences.. The HD has more power for the headphones..

 

I have the X-Meridian 7.1 2G and the Xonar Xense. Both cards are very similar in sound when gaming. I believe the Xonar provides a better 7.1 emulation when using 5.1 analog speakers and headphones. I don't know why but the positional and surround sounds seem more accurate and a bit more crisp with the Xonar. Other than that,I doubt you will hear any REAL difference in quality with either one of them. Only downside to Xonar is,if you already have a set of good headphones,you get another set whether you want them or not.

 

I read up on the xense..Nothing much on the x-meridian 7.1 2g.. ROBSCIX is dragging his feet..lol jk.. I'm using an xfi hd now..Just got it.. I'm sure this is pretty much top dog right now.And for $114,I couldn't go wrong..

So is this card good for gaming Rag-doll? I really dont care bout EAX,the times i did use it the games sounded worse. Maybe be cause im using a cheap card. Was thinking out buying a asus card but ive read that intro in some the games skips and other problems.

Are there any new soundcards coming out this year ROBSIX?

 

If there is a new source/card coming that I can mention, I will do a sneak peak if I can so people get get a look at the hardware and check over the specs.
